She was the one white person in a store full of other black people. He did it to make a statement. It left an impression on my wife and on me, that in his eyes, it’s ok to be white.

I noticed this running through a drive thru yesterday for work. A black employee i have seen many occasions before seemed extra friendly. I said my normal please and thank you during the sale and he wished me a good rest of the day and a quick exchange about how he was ready to be off work. It was pleasing to make small talk with him, I hope he had a good day today too

I think that’s what the Bible means by “the light of the world”. We should be uplifting other people. It doesn’t take some grand act or anything. The small gestures can inspire others and remind them things will be fine. God is watching over us.

Great story.

People who work deserve respect, you did well in supporting him.

I tell my kids to try to be nice to everyone. You never know who’s on the edge and needs a little kindness that day. And that might make a huge difference to that person. Good on you Pede.
