Look into the paint and sprayers that NYC uses to paint crosswalks and such on roads that can simply never be closed. I watched this happening once, and it was really awesome.
Middle of a weekday, Lexington Avenue in midtown. Traffic light goes red, guys with awesome paint sprayers walk across the crosswalk spraying on new crosswalk paint. They get to the other side just before traffic light goes green. Hundreds of cars proceed to drive over the newly painted crosswalk, which doesn't give up a molecule of its new paint. I'm guessing it's some kind of super-fast-setting epoxy, and probably involves mixing two substances as they're sprayed on.
If you could mount sprayers with this kind of paint hidden in a small truck or large van with an open bottom, you could just drive it down a street any old time, and be lost in traffic before anyone realized what happened and thought of looking for a vehicle that did it.
That and we're not going to steal the paint to do this...or block off a street and keep people from going to work or getting to a fire. And we realize that someone is eventually going to have to clean it up...which is tax payer money because that's going to be a city employee probably...which goes back to us having jobs and thus paying taxes in the first place.
They should actually do this (ideally in DC as that's getting the most coverage). The wording is perfect.
