When it first happened, I was all about throwing the book at them as hard as possible, dig every old law out from under the cobwebs of your legal system you can find. Obscure stuff, as some other user mentioned "50 U.S. Code § 842". I expected this to be the beginning of their movement, an actual ANTIFA stronghold and armed reinforcement(sort of happened, but to a very minor extent), and then they would gradually move outward with some sort of tactics.
But as time goes on, it clearly shows these guys are... completely pathetic and no real threat to anyone. These guys are just a bunch of helpless hippies for the most part aside from that Raz guy. I would almost feel bad about any harsh charges at this point, especially given the circumstances that they were basically just handed it.
Vagrancy, damage of public property, various vending without a permit, etc. I feel conflicted, with following the Rule of Law for what they objectively have done(claimed, occupied, and seceded a portion of US territory in a major city), vs. the way it happened and how incredibly inept they are.

You are going a little soft but I understand the sentiment. I mostly think about their parents, who may be cool, and probably continue to love their little shithead looting children. At the same time, if Trump wanted to round them up and execute them for trying to overthrow the U.S. government, I would be fine with that. People need to learn that you don’t just get to storm City Hall with weapons and start making terrorist demands. If these were a bunch of Muslims pledging allegiance to ISIS as they take over city streets with vigilante mobs, everyone would want them to go to Gitmo, so why shouldn’t the same rules apply?
