I'd say the closest situation to today would be the fall of the Roman Empire. Mass influx of non-Romans diluted the culture, and the patricians excessive use of slave labor lead to the decline of the plebeians, which were basically the Roman middle class.
What gives me hope are the younger GenZers are polling more conservative by volume and by conviction. They are our reinforcements and they are more clear eyed than ever.
