If your wife/mom/sister/girlfriend/whatever is being attacked while you aren't home, and a neighbor hears it and calls the cops, I think we want them to be able to enter the home without waiting to be let in.
They should be required to demonstrate real probable cause, some kind of reasonable evidence of an immediate threat or crime in progress, but they do need to have some flexibility.
I would absolutely rather have them kick down my door than shrug and walk away because the woman screaming in the house couldn't get to the door to let them in.
BS. If 'someone' kicked in my door at anytime, people besides myself would die.
