I found some more info. Harry Reid nuked the judicial filibuster in 2013 to ram his people thru. In response, Mitch just stalled/killed all the new confirmations. So the spots just piled up. Then he resumed them again with new Trump names. Pretty ballsy actually. Mitch is good on judges, despite the rest of it. Trump never says any of this, which is hilarious because the Left surely knows.
