This morning the news is saying she is on the short list for Biden VP. There's why the hasty action to fire the cop.

5
Bluestorm83 5 points ago +5 / -0

I agree, there IS a difference between what you can do and what you should do. You CAN attack an officer and try to steal his weaponry. As we have just seen, you SHOULD NOT.

You misunderstand. If someone tries to stab a cop they don't have to put away their guy, get out a knife and have a knife fight with the guy.

If someone is using potentially deadly force on them, they can do the same. At that point they aren't police officers, they are private citizens with a right to self defense.

Tase, take gun, shoot cop.

27
JonahND 27 points ago +27 / -0

A taser can incapacitate a person. Leaving them completely vulnerable to ANYTHING. Those are chances I'm not ever going to take. Anyone pointing a taser at another person better fucking expect to be shot

12
PeytonManThing 12 points ago +13 / -1

In a split second the cop would have to recognize that the gun pointed at him is a taser gun and not a real gun, and then decide that it’s totally fine for him to be tasered, which is a serious harm to have to put up with just because he can’t taser the guy since THE GUY STOLE HIS FUCKING TASER, allow himself to be incapacitated, and just pray that the guy who just attacked him won’t take that opportunity to attack him again. Also, honestly guys like him deserve a good killing. Our criminal justice system is so fucking weak and pathetic.

3
Only_Rosie_ODonnell 3 points ago +3 / -0

No decisions need to be made. The taser is a weapon. You and I would be justified to use lethal force just as well

10
wrongaddress 10 points ago +10 / -0

Not like this angel didn't take a couple of swings at the officers.

23
ViolentNPCS 23 points ago +24 / -1

Shoot a taser at a cop, expect bullets. Fuck that "reciprocal" force shit.

11
PeytonManThing 11 points ago +11 / -0

Totally agree. Reciprocal force is one of the worst ideas of recent times. We use it in warfare now, which leads to gradual and unending escalation, we use it in policing which means who the fuck wants to be a cop, and it means more crime. We use it in sentencing, which means more crime. You murder someone and get 10 or 20 years in prison, and we call it justice. If you murder someone, you should be swiftly executed. Our society is full of pussies.

2
just-a-pleb 2 points ago +2 / -0

Attack anyone and get shot, attacking people is not acceptable behavior.

Who are you to decide what makes an LEO feel safe or unsafe?

17
NewVoatAccountName 17 points ago +17 / -0

I know exactly what would have made the LEOs feel EXPONENTIALLY SAFER than what happened here:

Option 1, Man chose to not drink that night, enjoyed a decent meal from the Wendy's drivethru, and went to bed happy and healthy.

Option 2, Man chose to not drive that night, had food delivered to his house through any one of the numerous food delivery apps, enjoyed a nice salty meal along with his alcohol, and fell asleep on the couch content with his life.

Option 3, Man chose to drink and drive, fell asleep in Wendy's drivethru, complied with police when they arrived onsite, and was able to use his good behavior with the cops to bargain for a lighter sentence on his misdeed.

You could argue that simply "resisting arrest and running away" might make the cops feel safer than the actual chain of events, but at that point he's not complying with police, fighting them, and trying to escape. That's a good way to get the cops' adrenaline pumping and get them to start trying to hunt you down, while the act of running/hiding could make them more paranoid that you might have obtained a weapon sometime between the failed arrest and the moment they finally find you.

The moment he stole a cop's weapon was the moment he became "armed", and the moment he stopped to aim/fire it at the police was the moment he became "dangerous".

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

NO YOU FUCKING RACIST!! IT IS HIS RIGHT TO BREAK THE LAW AND THOSE STUPID ASSHOLES STOPPING HIM ARE BAD PEOPLE. REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. FUCK YOU ALL IM GONNA GO BLOW OFF SOME STEAM AND LOOT SOME SHOPS

2
Only_Rosie_ODonnell 2 points ago +2 / -0

Boom, well put. He was armed and dangerous when he was justifiably shot.

5
PeytonManThing 5 points ago +5 / -0

Even the cuck police chief who resigned said the cop was within his rights to shoot the guy. She said he could do it but that didn’t mean he should have.

2
Qwikphaze 2 points ago +2 / -0

Why did she resign? She just quit, because she knew it was a difficult situation?

1
PeytonManThing 1 point ago +1 / -0

Too weak to deal with the fallout I guess. We are plagued with weak people

8
Slim 8 points ago +8 / -0

So if there is only one criminal the cops should stand around in a circle waiting to 1v1 like a kung fu movie. Don’t want it to be unfair.

The law is not “life is in danger” its if the person using deadly force reasonably believed that they were in danger of death OR great bodily harm. Being tased can make one reasonably believe that if they are incapacitated the criminal might cause great bodily harm or death

10
Robbybobbyrobbob 10 points ago +10 / -0

7

18
Necrovoter 18 points ago +18 / -0

I hadn't seen the news report that the criminal fired the taser at the officer - just "pointed" it at him. Yet, there he is, clear as day, firing the taser.

The police department of Atlanta should announce they are firing the mayor - arrest her and lock her up. Other cities could follow through and we'd see America returning to normal a lot quicker.

13
YourDaddyKnowsBest [S] 13 points ago +14 / -1

Get shot.

35
Scotty1954 35 points ago +36 / -1

So the bitch Chief of Police resigned and the bitch Mayor wants the cop fired immediately! Another good cop going to have his life ruined by these asswipes! I am so sick of seeing these liberal assholes in positions of authority who know NOTHING about what it takes to be a cop! Cops are people doing a thankless job who just want to get home safe to their family and these lousy liberal progressive assholes are intent on ruining their lives. What happens when all the good cops say enough and quit??? Sorry for the rant but I am pissed and tho normally a very peaceful person I am beginning to think it is time to take action!

23
Bigger_igloo 23 points ago +24 / -1

Not gonna lie, I agree they need to stage a walkout or strike in these dem run cities. Even just for a day or two. We'll see how quick they beg them to come back.

15
Kornstalx 15 points ago +16 / -1

I've said this all week. If the police unions strike, this shit would end fast as the State Police get involved (and promptly overwhelmed).

10
Necrovoter 10 points ago +10 / -0

No walkout - arrest the mayors and/or police chiefs and city councils directing them to abandon their duties. If they have a Dem governor and the gov calls for the national guard, the national guard could arrest the governor.

Then arrest CNN and MSM stoking the protest fires.

What charges? Treason, violating Constitutional rights, Aiding and Abetting Domestic Terrorism for starters.

3
Slapstick86 3 points ago +3 / -0

The police literally aren't upholding their oats when they stand by and let innocent people get hurt. Even if they were directed to stand down, that goes against their oaths.

They are mostly more scared to speak out than the whites. I watch a lot of these videos, and tonight there was a guy telling his viewers to dox people who said anything negative about the marches and violence in Atlanta. He was saying to find out who they are and get them fired from their jobs.

Black Tasers Matter!

1
Only_Rosie_ODonnell 1 point ago +1 / -0

The strange twist is that this incident is going to change and infuriate a lot of people and demonstrate the ridiculousness and stupidity of the BLM movement. The facts are pretty clear cut in favor of the officers. And with the body cam footage it's clear that the cops were actually respectful and afforded him his rights. BLM is going to double down, but it's going to be their demise

14
daty_dato 14 points ago +15 / -1

They don't see these actions as unreasonable. They can't understand that these actions are unacceptable and that once you engage the police that any action that threatens their lives is likely to end in a body bag call. They emote. They don't understand that the police have a different responsibility when responding to these situations. That it's unacceptable to fight with the police. Because it's legal to berate the police, that it should be legal to brawl with them. That the cops should fight and not protect themselves with lethal force. Why? Because they don't think about all the cops killed by guys like this asshole because they failed to use deadly force or never had a chance to do so.

14
thedogsofdoom 14 points ago +15 / -1

Thank god for the video of this. Helps destroy another MSM narrative. I mean, they’ll still run with this, but we can just add it to their ever-growing list of media distortion and lies.

7
YourDaddyKnowsBest [S] 7 points ago +8 / -1

It’s all media manipulation especially every 4 years.

1
Only_Rosie_ODonnell 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yupp, this footage is their death knell. Let them double down now.

12
Scotty1954 12 points ago +12 / -0

So I know why the 'chief' hung the cop out to dry rather than backing him up for a justified shoot. She started in patrol and did 8 years in vice then made sergeant and joined INTERNAL AFFAIRS and has been screwing her brthers in blue over ever since. Figures!!

8
YourDaddyKnowsBest [S] 8 points ago +8 / -0

Now it makes sense.

6
Necrovoter 6 points ago +6 / -0

Does IA ever "catch" anyone that isn't already on a department political hit list? It seems to me if they had any effectiveness, the few bad police would have been rooted out a long time ago. My gut feeling is that a lot of IA is corrupt themselves and helping protect others who should have been gone.

4
Randomite 4 points ago +5 / -1

I don't know - the news mentioned this morning that the Mayor is being considered for VP candidate - Why would the Chief resign so quickly? I think she was being forced to terminate the cop, the Chief said "no, let's wait for the investigation", and the Mayor said - "you're gone" to Chief. The Mayor is the one who terminated the cop who did the shooting, not the Chief.

12
Sum_devil 12 points ago +13 / -1

Well, pretty soon won't be any cops willing to shoot these fuckers b/c their mayors don't have their backs. Say goodbye to the law and order. We will be at eachothers throats quicker than people think. Watch the wave of good hearted officers quit the force. Police are going to be replaced with shitty, BLM sympathetic types. Watch.

Cops will walk and be fine, justified shoot

None of this would have happened if the perp didn't escalate it.

5
PeytonManThing 5 points ago +5 / -0

The police chief resigned and said the cop was in his rights to shoot the guy, but still shouldn’t have (based on what???) and now the cop has been fired and the Wendy’s burned down. What did the Wendy’s do? We live in a third world country.

FULL VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEwEa2O-3Lg

Well if the police just let him "sleep it off" how would they be sure he wouldn't wake up later still drunk and drive off?

The fact is this guy made the decision to run, to assault the officers, steal their (taser) gun and fire it at them.

The police first tried to restrain him hand to hand, that didn't work. Then they tried to taser him non lethally, that didn't work. Then he stole their gun and shot back at them so there's only one of two things left to do.

Let him go or fire a shot, one shot would have been fine no need for multiple. Thing is if you are fighting this hard not to go into custody there must be a good reason for it (or he was just drunk and/or high)

He chose to escalate the situation by running and fighting, if he didn't do that he wouldn't have been shot. He made the decision to drive while drunk/high and that comes with risks, not just to him by society.

Should he have died? No. Did he force the police to act? Yes. Did he put himself in this situation? Yes. He should have just stayed at home or wherever he was until he was sober enough because we don't want people on the street like this and we can't trust everyone to sleep it off especially people who constantly make bad decisions.
