Why not pull out all the stops and just say he was sleeping in his bed

Nah, cause then he would be like Duncan Lemp who was asleep in his bed when cops smashed into his house with a no-knock raid and killed him back in March. Of course, Duncan was white and a libertarian so of course that doesn't get covered.
