Roll your own. Get good brass, and good bullets for the application. I already have powder and primers for 5.56. That's the next upper I'll build and I'll finally get a can.
Yeah, it's ballistics look like a rainbow over 200yds. Great for suppressed home defense, imo. My home defense ar is chambered in 5.56, but my wife's is in 300blk. Don't need her going deaf if she has to aerate a dindu
Believe me, I hate it here. Assault Weapon Ban, 10rd mag cap, a roster list, and our carpet-munching AG signed a complete bullshit enforcement order back in 2016 banning "copycat" weapons that other states sell to get around the AWB.
I already have an AR-15, but whenever you guys post yours I think about buying another. What is it about gun ownership that makes me want to own all the guns
Aside from being only semi-automatic, what are the other disadvantages of bringing an AR-15 to combat? Let's say you went to Afghanistan to fight the Taliban with the military but all they had for you was an AR.
It's good to see a real vet in here all these fake ones are talking about full auto and they only updated to the M4A1 with full auto last year. Which is fucking dumb in my opinion because you should never use full auto. I don't even know why you'd really ever use burst it's just as likely to jam the gun as to be useful.
Since many large manufacturers Colt, FN, etc., sell their ARs to the public as milspec, there is little to no difference in performance, other than no select fire on a standard 16" AR vs an M16A2.
The only other major differences is the M4 variant which comes with a slightly shorter 14.5" barrel.
I would say the advantage would go to non-military simply because one can customize (optics, furniture, etc) on an AR to whatever suits them. Most military personnel are stuck with few options, if any at all, to their rig.
The short answer is that an AR is (mechanically) identical to an M16A2/M4. Other than select fire, and a shortened barrel on the M4, they are essentially the same weapon.
spez: Milspec is just the tolerance the military has set forth. The govt issued rifles have tolerances that are rather loose to aid in the interchangeability of parts between weapons in the field.
The AR was adopted during Nam because the Governmental hack who made millions selling it to the Chairforce as a stateside base rifle ONLY, sucked off and bribed enough Joint Chiefs to have it adopted full time.
For real pede and you don’t wanna get shitty Chinese knockoff sights. I just got fixed iron sights (rear is a carry handle) for my LR308 build, haven’t arrived yet but they typically stay zeroed in better.
Gotta go, heading out in a boat trip now, I hope I don’t lose my rifle in a boating accident!
I have a aimpoint micro t2 (~$600), trijicon mro (~$350) and a sig Romeo (~$150).
I like the sig more than the trij but less that the aimpoint. The dot is almost equally as crisp on sig and aimpoint. The dot on the mro sucks. I like that the sig has motion on feature. Aimpoint does not.
I would recommend a sig over a more expensive option unless your putting it on a nice rifle. Budget builds get budget glass. The sig is a quality piece of budget glass. Avoid trijicon.
If White privilege were actually real, I'd keep it as well.
Alas, White privilege is totally fake. The opposite is true. Whites pay far more into the system than they take and yet get despised by media, politicians, and big corporations.
Fair enough, and right now it's not Whites doing well at the expense of, say, Blacks, but doing better (not even well IMHO--look at suicide rates, health, obesity, trust, social cohesion) than Blacks despite giving a ton to Blacks that isn't reciprocated by and large
It's your right bro, not privilege. In Canada we call it a privilege, that's why it was so easy for the dictatorship to ban 1500 overnight. No debate, no legislation, no warning.
Needs an AFG or hand-stop and a good optic. Holosun and Mueller are some good choices for the money if you're going non-magnifier. Mueller is made in USA, my Quik-Shot from them resembles the "Coyote" from Battlefield 4, has auto-brightness option, four different reticules and only cost $100. Stands up to the recoil on my Saiga 12 just fine.
Consider a mag cinch if you only have two mags as well.
Put a nice red dot on there. I like the broomstick grip option in metal not plastic, with flashlight attachment on the grip. A nice two-point fast-adjust sling is the best, imho. Get some extra hexmags. You'll need body armor next.
hoping all PEDEs cover the serial numbers
or intentionally change the photo.
make sure you confuse deep tech whenever possible
What are these "serial numbered guns" you speak of? Like the ones I lost off the coast of Colorado?
I think they're like 223, 556 & 300 or something...
I'm not just a number, I'm a human being!
Lol How long have you been waiting to say that?
Is 300 WinMag a serial number?
Probably exactly like the ones I lost in a tragic boating accident.
You can also fake the image Exif data for bonus points.
Protip: if you have a photo, take a screenshot of your computer screen and use that to upload on the internet.
Even if the photo says it doesn't have Exif data, I don't trust it.
I do this but take it a step further: I take a photo of the phone taking the photo of the screen.
What’s a “serial number”?

BLACK GUNS MATTER
Shooting 300 Blackout.
Or you can get an ak in 7.62 x 39 from a dead russian, move to the mountains, and start calling yourself a wolverine
Love that shirt.
That film inspired me in middle school!
I'd like to own one of those. Crazy how AK prices have risen above those of AR.
Wolf is making steel cased 300 BLK that was going for 20cpr before the panic buying hit. Now it's 40cpr (if you can even find it in stock anywhere).
Dollar a round tho.... compared to 556 at 30 cents
Roll your own. Get good brass, and good bullets for the application. I already have powder and primers for 5.56. That's the next upper I'll build and I'll finally get a can.

Stock up on ammo and magazines if you haven't already.
👍
That’s still not nearly enough.
Buy it cheap and stack it deep.
Steel case ammo, I have found, shoots just as reliably as brass
Not so good for reloading though. :/
Also, some ranges won't let you shoot steel cartridges because they want to collect and sell your brass.
Also more wear on the chamber and extractor. Wolf Gold is brass cased, shoots well, and is cheap when on sale.
don't steel rounds have more corrosion?
cries in Massachusetts
Not an option for me at this time. Soon though, I hope...
Believe me, I hate it here. Assault Weapon Ban, 10rd mag cap, a roster list, and our carpet-munching AG signed a complete bullshit enforcement order back in 2016 banning "copycat" weapons that other states sell to get around the AWB.
Things are fucked here to put it lightly.
Just wait til they add some of California's bullshit laws to the list
Haha, we hear stories up east
:( I Hear ya. I'm making my money here, then moving somewhere that isn't a communist state. If remote-work becomes standard I could do it sooner.

You have options.
Joggers, too.
I already have an AR-15, but whenever you guys post yours I think about buying another. What is it about gun ownership that makes me want to own all the guns
I have one of their mid length kits that looks just like that 👌
Aside from being only semi-automatic, what are the other disadvantages of bringing an AR-15 to combat? Let's say you went to Afghanistan to fight the Taliban with the military but all they had for you was an AR.
Can confirm, zero need to empty a mag in 2.4 seconds unless you are suppressing and also have.. a small mountain of mags behind you.
Pretty much just the burst/auto fire...but even then, it's questionable how useful that is in the real world. Here's an ex-delta force guy breaking down the Heat movie scenes where they're in gunfights where he speaks about full auto.
Secondly, if you're taking the select fire out of the equation, in many cases a consumer can actually put together a much nicer and accurate AR15 than the M4s that are issued in the military these days. Here's a video where a guy runs drills with both and it's pretty interesting.
I have no particular use for full auto (othe than the deterrent factor of the rat-a-tat sound, I suppose). But I would like the 3-round burst mode.
Full auto is fun when Uncle Sugar is paying for the ammo.
Thanks. Fantastic both.
ATF NO! NOT THE DOGGO!

Do you even history?
What iron sights did you go with? Looks like flip up buis

My next gun is an AR-15
Nice
This is why Trudeau is so desperate to ban these. They essentially want to ban anything that's a danger to their communist takeover.
Only three words come to mind.....Bap-Bap-Bap!!
Not really M4 configuration tho. Too long, wrong fore-end, needs fixed front sight
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good look! Idk why they labeled it that way though, that’s not a standard M4 setup.
Sweet gun though!

I'm to nervous to post pics of my Babies. But she's a beault
I love this....could I get details on all the components pictured, I want to build something like this.
that's a lot of FPS
