If you mean that most a white friends will give smart advice and, if in the car with the black driver, won't make situation worse by being disrespectful and aggressive towards the police, MAYBE the "white friend thing" can make sense, but very slightly; lots of whites do drugs and do NOT behave appropriately when stopped by the police, whether they're the driver or a passenger.
However, this was not what Chris Rock meant by the "white friend thing." He meant that the police would be nicer just because the friend is white, which is total BS.
The rest of the points Chris made are all valid & wise, and are applicable to blacks AND whites, but the "white friend thing" is ridiculous.
