Under appreciated post. I’ve worked alongside many gay people, some a bit more obvious about their preference than others, but all of them were good coworkers....with the exception of Dan.
Dan made sure you knew he was gay, and every day was some type of drama, oftentimes personal issues. Everyone has personal shit they deal with, and most everyone takes care to minimize its impact on work.
Not good old Dan though. No, Dan liked to make sure everyone shared in the drama and I lost count of the excuses he used for not completing work. I finally refused to pick up his slack, which launched a whole episode with HR. I made it explicitly clear that my issue was with a person who routinely showed up late for work (3+ hours) took ridiculous lunch breaks (2 hours was the norm) and left early. I didn’t care one whit about his orientation, but it was still “investigated” and the end result was: nothing changed.
I quit for greener pastures shortly thereafter, but that was a fucking eye-opener.
In Louisiana, I don't even need a reason to fire you. At all. I can just meet you at the door and "Good Morning, you're fired". Are there places you can't do that? I mean not including union jobs I guess.
Tons my friend... fucking tons... as a fellow Cajun, please refrain from advertising how awesome it is to live there, we are the Diamond in the rough and we need to keep it that way. I need a place to fall back to if this TX thing doesn't pan out.
Bring ya wallet if ya come. the Governor of Nottingham ain't letting go of any revenue, no matter how hard we get hit. Never ceases to amaze me how we end up with these damned liberal governors.
SHOULD be Rispone. He was leading the entire night, all precincts had reported in, and then, like magic, 50,000 votes from Jefferson parish came in for Edwards.

With the way the oilfield is right now, I'd be a damned robber Barron too. Texas Shale is fucking killing LA right now :/ Anyway, trust me when I say this: Edwards may be Democrat but Liberal like Dark Blue states, the fucking distance on that political range is astronomical bro. Edwards would be considered Moderate maybe even Slightly Republican in the rest of the Country.
Attention seeking Gays, ie LARP Gays are the only ones that prance about at work and every other sentence is "I am gay", "my and my life partner steve/suzie" etc etc...
Every single opportunity they get to blather on about their gayness they take...
These are the annoying people who share the intimate details of their life with everyone who doesn't want to know....
Had one of these in a job I worked a few years ago. Boss finally had it and told him to shut the fuck up, nobody cares or wants to hear about your personal life.
"It's because I'm gay, isn't it!" Boss replies with "no it's because you're being a faggot about it!"
In most workplaces, it's normal to have some basic knowledge of your boss' and coworkers' personal lives. Nothing wrong with that. But any private business should be free to "discriminate" as much as they like, as long as they honor any contract the employer and employee entered into regarding the job.
As for the "transgender" funeral home employee, it is absolutely reasonable for a funeral home not to allow someone to change "gender" in the middle of their employee. Funeral home clients are by definition going through emotional stress, and the last thing they need is some creepy guy dressed up as a woman and taking female hormones, handling their deceased loved one's body. Any contract an employer entered into upon hiring a person, should be null and void if that person subsequently insists on claiming to be a different person.
As someone who is my coworker, I really don't give a fuck about their personal life - all I care about is that they're not a fuggen criminal and they do their job professionally. There's a ton of idiots who work, especially those in the corporate world, who can't abstract their work from their personal life and are extremely unprofessional. Even with that, I don't think this ruling is anything relevant or important - it's for clown people working in a circus. If they don't like working in a circus, they should probably seek other employment.

You should be able to hire or fire whoever you want for whatever reason honestly

I was doubled over laughing.
Go in, do your job, collect your pay, leave.
You mean my workplace isn't a platform to virtue signal? Where else can I have a captive audience?
School, sporting events and a talking box inside people's home.

There are those guys who don't need to say anything about their sexuality but wear it on their sleeve.
I'm just saying you don't need to verbally state your sexuality for it to be known.
You better believe they would know if you were trans, since 99% can't pass.

"it's for clown people working in a circus," i.e. government. Ugh.
