As I understand it, the original meaning of "Natural Born Citizen" as opposed to "Citizen" is one must be born on U.S. soil with BOTH parents being U.S. citizens at time of birth. Neither Ted Cruz nor Marco Rubio were technically eligible to run for president the same as Obama. All three were U.S. citizens, but none of them were Natural Born Citizens. Hope that helps.
