I'll say it again for anyone that doesn't know:

These cities/states are financial bankrupt. The SALT taxes drastically reduced their revenue. Combine that with the covid lockdowns not generating revenue, on top of constant deficit spending on credit. They over-leveraged and got fucked in the ass. Covid shined a light on the smoke and mirror show.

They are broke, so they are cutting police. They can't afford their very expensive salaries + benefits + overtime.
