When Savage stays on point, he can be extremely good. I'm not saying he is always on fire, but there are some broadcasts where he does a fantastic job.
I used to listen to him religiously every single day then, during and right after the election, something seemed to snap in him. I started listening less and less because every time I would tune in, it was him way over the top losing his shit on some caller because they forgot he “doesn’t like pleasantries”. That or him spending 2 hours talking about his stupid dog.
I get he rolls fast and dirty, but when someone (who is a big fan) calls in and says “Oh my gosh, Dr. Savage I’ve been a huge fan for years!” and he screeches at them to ask their question or simply hangs up... not cool. Especially because then he would get pissy and spend 10 times as long bitching about it or get angry and cut to commercial. Naw, screw that.
I hate to say it but I agree. I hate to say it because Michael Savage is the person that got me actually caring about politics. He always has been rough and abrasive but he always evened that out with a warm side by telling stories of his mom and father growing up or of his brother.
Then in the last couple of years he has been a straight up dick most of the time and when he isn't a dick he wallows about Trump and how people in the white house hates him despite winning Trump the presidency.
Then he met the President over Christmas in DC and took some pics and talked and everything was good. Only for a month later for him doing it all over again. It just became unbearable to listen to.

Same here. I used to call him my cultural guru. This was during the beginning of the Obama era too. I didn't mind him talking about Teddy or his boat it was nice after a rant. I don't get him where I live now so I haven't heard him since around 2011. Too bad he lost his touch.
Same and I actually give him a ton of credit helping get Trump in to the whitehouse. He certainly was at the forefront of the conservative revival. I also didn’t mind him taking about other things like his dog, boat, car or restaurants that he liked. It was a nice break from the front lines of the culture war.
But there’s a difference between a nice story and an entire episode. Especially when real shit was going down. I figured that there was a lot going on behind the scenes that we didn’t know about and that he probably felt (somewhat justifiably) that Trump snubbed him after the election.
For me, the worst thing was shitting on his fans though.
He kind of is, but in a “professor getting irritated because some dimwit student is asking a question that was just asked or is in bold-print on the front page of the syllabus” sort of way.
My opinion is that he felt like he did a lot for Trump during the election and was effectively cast aside after it. There was a time when Savage was one of only a couple of personalities with the balls to get on air and speak the actual truth. I miss him from those days.
Gotta agree with ya, because he did it to me on Twitter, I bought alot of his books at one time listened to him everyday, agreed alot with what he had to say, but holy shit if ya disagree and tell him so he goes full blown retarded.

He sounds like an asshole.

Same here. I tune in again from time to time, but it's generally disappointing.
