The reality is that they are a tiny portion of the population. People who are awake to what is going on is also a tiny portion of the population. The issue is who wins the hearts and minds of that 90%.
Right now Antifa/BLM is alienating the vast majority of that 90%. I know people who never talk politics, and probably tend to lean left who are waking up.

There is a lot of anti cop sentiment on this site, just look back at posts about people getting charged with crimes for breaking lockdown procedures. Threats against cops were definitely made on reddit and those voices grew louder in recent months on here.

Buy snap caps. They're cheap fake ammo. You can practice dry firing (don't dry fire rimfire weapons) without damaging the pin, and you can practice ejecting, clearing, loading.. .. all in your livingroom.
It's not as valuable as actual firing time, but the loading, pointing, ejection, repeat practice helps.
Show her how to disassemble a gun. At a minimum, show her how to run a barrel snake through so she can clean it easily with one motion.
Finally, instead of blowing through hundreds of rounds on your own, spend a couple hundred $ on basic training. Often they supply the ammo and you'll get way more bang for your buck.

One thing to note: if you shoot steel cased rounds, you MUST clean the chamber before using brass cased rounds.
Steel does not expand in the chamber and allows for carbon build-up. This is how brass cases get stuck and wont eject.

Yep. I clean my guns like a crazy person after range trip. I like to put the chamber/starfish brush on my cordless drill and got to town.
It's also useful to sneak some random snap caps into the wife's range mags, and vice versa, so you get used to clearing drills.
A great training aid, albeit more difficult to use with weapons like the AR platform that have to be cocked after each trigger pull unless fired, are laser trainers.
A laser trainer is chambered like a bullet and when the firing pin is strikes it, it "fires" a brief laser pulse, letting you see where your shot would have hit. It also reveals if you jerked the trigger or moved the gun, resulting in a short laser line rather than a nice round dot.
If your pistol is DA definitely get a laser trainer for it, but remember that during actual fire (unless DAO), all but your first shot will be single action. There's also a gizmo available for ARs that lets you recock with just a short tug on the charging handle, specifically for use with such devices.
+1 for snap caps. Last gun show I was at they had ones that activated a laser and worked with a phone app too. You point the phone at a target and it picks up the lazer shot from snapcap. Seems gimmicky but in person it worked really well. Its like a low energy duck hunt with your own firearm.

Okay so I've been one of the voices saying "we're not there yet." Well, I think we might be there, now. Here's my question:
How do I get training? One man army type of stuff. Not how to fire a gun...I know that. I mean, where do I learn how to actually take defensive action, fight multiple attackers in my home, handle a total breakdown scenario in a city, get my family to safety, etc.
If there a good youtube channel? A book? Please help.
Ask your local gun range or Gun Shop. They'll know who is out there
