Protected classes are a form of group rights and have no place in a society that values individual rights and personal freedom.

Nah. The second I get arrested for anything, I’m popping a dick in my mouth and suing for $500 million. That will cover half of my emotional distress. I got pretty distressed in those five seconds. $100 million a second. More if someone triggers me with disagreement.

What about the people with downs syndrome or dimentia, we need to protect them from those that would take advantage of them

Incapacitated people are not capable of entering into contract already, and this includes short and long term disability or impairment. The basis of that is an individual right because we can all potentially be incapacitated and taken advantage of.

If they have dementia they'll be fine. They can just run for office, Democrats don't mind.

Then defend them. A person can provide them with job opportunities if they are an employer. Provide them with references if they are an employee. Donate to charities which support them. Volunteer their time to help.

If a person can't make that minimum level of effort, they should accept that they do not in fact care much at all. Instead of forcing others via government to pay to relieve their guilt for being ambivalent toward the less fortunate. It's a disgrace to feel moral satisfaction by paying 3 cents on the dollar in taxes while forcing every other person to agree with you by force.

It's the story of every government program or law that supposedly helps this group or that group.
