The insider story on this is that politicians are now choosing to preemptively hide historical statues before people even protest, keep them safely in storage and wait the savages to die down. If you think about it this strategy appeases both sides, the mobs think they removed the statue while people who want to keep the statue have to wait for a proper time and place to replace it. Especially for based politicians deep in liberal states this is the best they can do without losing their job. The only alternative is to watch as they tear it down and break their own skulls. Not sure how I feel about it, but until someone actually uses the National Guard this is what has to happen. If you're in deep blue territory your statues are absolutely fucked.
