Even our red city went blue under terrible shady circumstances. A local pastor was elected mayor in 2011, running as a Republican. I was on the city historic review board, which was all liberals except me. The public meetings were all private since the public never showed interest in attending. As no one knew my political tastes, the meetings, with the mayor present, often turned into leftist power trips. I quickly learned the mayor was a RINO. He went on to serve two terms and was finally beat in the primary last year by a true conservative. Unfortunately, another one of the mayors pastor buddies, who was serving as a “republican” on city council, stepped in and ran as independent. He was a clean cut guy that had zero skeletons in the closet. No one could say a bad thing about him. All the liberals in town foamed at the mouth for him because they knew he was a liberal. He commonly put liberal candidate signs in his front yard. All the democrats even got all the local liberal university students to vote for him, as he was an alumni. Those f***s leave town when they graduate but got to meddle in our local politics. He ended up winning by a landslide. All the appointees are liberal cucks from the university. Half of council is liberal cucks who ran as republican just for votes. Every new hire since January has ties to the university. We lost our town and sadly this is a bigger picture of what is happening in the entire country. The liberals all cried about how corrupt the republicans were but will fight to the death defending everything their liberal cronies do. I’ve been calling out all the cronyism in the last ten years and they deny it. I quit the historic review board over it, which took a lot since I have a deep passion for historic preservation. Unfortunately, it’s a field made up of mostly liberals. Hell, none of the ones I am still friends with on fb had anything bad to say about all the historic buildings and monuments being destroyed the last few weeks, they egged it on. I care about all historic structures, they care about the ones that fit their narrative. The last mayor even knocked down an 1850-1860 stone house at the park because some nut in the 80s said it was a slave jail for runaways. It was actually debunked by a liberal preservationist, but no one listened. The mayor had it removed to appease his liberal buddies. $60,000 went into restoring it in the 80s, those groups who paid got no say in it. I was president of a local preservation organization at the time and wasn’t even notified til it was in the back of a dump truck. That’s $186,000 in today’s dollars, wasted for a bunch of liberal cry babies. This is our enemy and crying the loudest is winning.
