Genghis Khan conquered Baghdad leading the Mongol horde. Admiral Nelson defeated the French at the battle of Trafalgar leading the Royal Navy. US Grant that organized the multi theater attack on the Confederacy to win the Civil War. It is the man in the arena who takes great personal risks to accomplish monumental endeavors that gets the credit. We build statues to these men because they were the giants of their time. It is only fitting that envious and rotten people steeped in perpetual failure are the ones that tear down the statues. The only thing they will ever accomplish is pissing on the grave of someone far better than them in every way.
Elon Musk doesn't assume any of the physical risk of building rockets. He just pays for it, but he gets the credit when his rockets succeed.
