Tanks and bombers do fuck all against insurgents even drone strikes are not that effective when your insurgents are mixed into the civilian non combatant population. Plus if you need some AT4s or Javelins for armor it's likely that at least part of the military / national guard would desert Federal service and take equipment with them anyway. Plus there are those supply shipments you've been hitting. The Media as you mentioned is probably a bigger threat than any armor or drone.
