New Mexico protest shooting that happened yesterday.
The chief of police says he will charge the guard group with a hate crime. How is this possible, If political beliefs are not a distinction for hate crime?
Here is the quote
Albuquerque Police Chief Michael Geier said in a statement. “If this is true [we] will be holding them accountable to the fullest extent of the law, including federal hate group designation and prosecution.”
Needs more context. If WHAT is true?
The protesters were calling in and reporting the people who tried to stop them as a "vigilante" group. Police for thee but not for me.
The context for the statement was: if the "vigilante" group was antagonizing the mob is true...
Full quote: "We are receiving reports about vigilante groups possibly instigating this violence. If this is true, we will be holding them accountable to the fullest extent of the law, including federal hate group designation and prosecution,"
Yes the question is, was that a hate crime? And hate of what? Different political views points? Because that is new. And if so, there have been lots of hate crimes against conservatives. Lots!
There's no "hate crime" being alleged, they're looking to condemn the militia group as a "hate group" because they disagree with Black Lives Matter.
It's the stupid game with words they like playing. The Police Chief, appointed by the Democrat Mayor, are saying, "You disagree with the organization BLM, so obviously you also disagree with the statement Black Lives Matter -- meaning you hate and disregard black lives." You know it doesn't apply the other direction, especially in New Mexico.
Ha, that's a slick move. Name your organization "black', do with your organization anything you want, and if anyone opposes that are racist.
They can't lose.
