This is 100% correct. Sites can opt out of archiving. Archive.org doesn’t have the financial resources to deal with unlimited copyright lawsuits even though they (arguably) have a fair use right to provide archival services.
I'm surprised some people know about this. I've been using this site since the mid 2000's and people are shocked that such a thing exists and wonder how I find information that they cannot find. A lot of people don't know this site exists.
Archive.org isn't used for you to archive stuff. It crawls the web and archives automatically. As it does so, it respects the "robots.txt" file at the root of the web server. If that file says "don't archive me" it doesn't.
There used to be a way where you could recommend it crawl a site, but you were never guaranteed when that site would be crawled.
tl;dr: this isn't censorship, this is misunderstanding of the Archive.org services.
Thanks very much for being both factually correct and courteous with your reply. Though my conclusion about archive.org censoring my link was wrong, I’m leaving the post up for others to read the comments and to learn the real reason why this happened.
If anybody can find Tracy Morgan's bit on SNL after 9/11 saying to racial profile people (referring to mid-easterners), I'll slip you a $20. I don't know how to use these tools.
if a site at some point in time publishes information to the "PUBLIC" internet they can go fuck themselves when fast forward in time they find that their older "information" counters their current narrative and want the archive site to take it down..
This is a perfect use-case for the block chain.

I've used archive.is since the whole power-mod/spez-edit fiasco. Works good so far.
Bonus: Reddit power-mods talking shit about TD back in the day
That's the first time I had seen that, so thank you! o/
Archive.is
Archive.fo
Styx has several videos on this, he recommends archive.today
Archive.is also works well.
That might be the same thing.
They are the same thing.
I think it changes periodically? Not sure though
We need archive.win
It's been censoring since at least 2016 with pizzagate. Use archive.is instead.
It's still real
P I Z Z A G A T E
IS REAL
This is a known liberal site, use archive.is instead
well guess they have inept web/server admins if they forget to include it.. too bad so sad when it is copied off the PUBLIC FUCKING INTERWEBS!
Well, if they'd just think the correct thoughts, that never would have happened!
The image above is where https://archive.org blocked the link to the site. Here is the image where it blocked the link to the article: https://kekpe.pe/i/5ee9083cf216f.jpeg
If this occurs with any site you try to archive, remember that https://archive.today is an alternative.

It has been censoring covertly for a long time. Conservative site content not loading yet liberal content loads in seconds.
Good post.
Also worth mentioning is the Chrome/Brave extension "Full Page Screen Capture"
Also raindrop.io is a bookmark manager that has a pro version that creates a permanent pdf of every website that is bookmarked. I use it as well.
For videos, I think the only real options are downloading or clipping the video and uploading it to LBRY.tv and bitchute
Use archive.is
Their SSL is fucked. Best to use archive.fo now.

We are going to fracking need two Internets.
Alex Jones warned us many Moons ago about this. Yes he is a shill but wow.
