A sales rep for a large national company came to my work today bragging about having taken part in violent protests in Tulsa Oklahoma (the blocking highways horse trailer incident "protests") where multiple people were injured and highways were illegally blocked and motorists terrorized. The job he has is not an easy one to get.
My boss of course would prefer to stay out of it and keep my place of employment out of it.
What are my options? I am not comfortable having someone like that near me at work. I don't feel like an anonymous email to the company would accomplish much unless I could find pictures of him at the protests and on the highway. Not out of the Realm of possibilities. The guy has a love of super identifiable sunglasses.
Aside from that, can I file a restraining order on the salesman? Even if it did piss my bosses off, would that offer me some legal protection?
Liberals would do this to a conservative in a heartbeat. My conscience tells me 2 wrongs don't make a right. The guy lost his marriage and whole life recently and this could send him into a suicidal depression.

Agree. If you mention you don't feel "safe" in the workplace, HR needs to deal with it. Ask for anonymity because of your fear of violence from the individual.

An anonymous letter from someone at the protests thanking him for helping to cause as much chaos as possible? Try to hit his email, but make it hit the Corp office instead. Antifa it up.

I think you answered your own question there at the end. There will be plenty of opportunities in the coming months to make a stand, I'm afraid. Wait for one where you aren't conflicted. If you think it's wrong, you probably shouldn't do it.
Honestly I think the guy deserves to have his life ruined. They started this war and forced everyone to choose sides. I can't handle the thought of destroying a person to the point of suicide though and after how he reacted to his wife being impregnated by another man, it would probably have that effect.
