Because she woke up and realized that her intentions didn't create the outcomes she thought. Many people aren't big enough to do that.

But I like at least being accepting of people willing to stand up to the mob and say the republic matters. She may not know what danger she's in. It took a while in 1920s-30s Germany with socialists killing and fighting in the streets before they started killing in\kidnapping people from their homes. But they have the internet, these days.

If you want to be entirely cynical, "keep your friends close and your enemies closer" might match your ethos or attack plan. My point is more about empathy for someone who recognizes there's something going on. I think that's more important than being judgemental to someone who was victimized at age 92. On the fucking public street in broad fucking daylight.
