If they were really bright, they wouldn't go to medical school. My sisters kids are all pretty intelligent (generally speaking). One daughter became a nurse (she wanted a balanced life, and now works part time), another became an accountant, makes a very good living, and is on track to become a partner in a large firm.
When it came time for their son to go to school, he wanted to be a Dr. His parents pleaded with him to do something else. Dr's have to spend a fortune on medical school and spend years between school and interning till they can make a living. They tried to convince him to become a dentist (a lot less school and you can make very good money). But he insisted that he wanted to be a Dr.
He is in medical school now, he is also the least intelligent member of his family.
