I’ve gone back and reread several of MLKJr’s speeches. What struck me the most was how he nearly always referred to himself and his followers as Americans. Not merely black. If he ever uttered the phrase “the black man matters” he would almost always follow it with “because all lives matter, before God” and then appeal to Americans ideals. As an American.

I wish black leaders would do that today.

for years i've thought some conservative/right wing group like breitbart or whoever should put money into a series of documentaries on various topics relating to historical liberal degeneracy/lack of morals/hypocrisy. the topic of the 'big switch' is a great candidate for one all by itself. in fact i think it could be a two or three parter.

imo you'd start by showing the early democrat days and drawing parallels between their agendas then and now, and also point out their racist rhetoric. you then just go forward in time and continue doing the same all the way up to the present, and conclude by simply asking how there was any switch if they still say and do the same things.

"Nixon pandered to the racists in the south!" Ok, now explain Bill Clinton's victory in the south?

Joe Biden is living proof there was no switch. He negotiated and tried to find common ground with segregations (in his own party). The compromises he made with them is how he got his image as a moderate.
