The problem there is that 00 buck and slugs typically have way more penetration than a non-FMJ .223/5.56.

Here's some interesting tests on drywall for a range of calibers and bullet types:

But what if you don't give a shit, and have awesome insurance? I mean really? Who gives a damn? You saved your family from some asshole/hole's, I really don't give a shit if my home burns down, as long as the wife and kids are good, fuck it. I can rebuild. And the asshole with no life (literally) cannot.

It's not about property damage, it's about rounds over-penetrating and potentially hitting someone who isn't the one breaking in.

I live in the country, which is why I don't care. My closest neighbor is a city block away. The firing lines of my hallway are straight and elevated due to the design of the house. You have to walk up steps to get to the rooms. The rooms are spread like a fist, with the wrist being the hallway. The bedrooms are laid out to put the beds on the opposite sides of the hallway. I'm prepared to offer pepper before slug. That's generous.

If you want a cookie for not caring, we can probably get you one. Still doesn't change anything that's already been pointed out.
