Hmm. I think it was more likely it was the side pieces (or bows) of the glasses. Plus I thought it was the guy on the right that hit him with the board.
After reviewing the higher quality video, he does have an object in his left hand. You can also see it drop from his hands when he collapses. It does look like you can see the 2 circles of glasses when they fall to the ground.
