This is great. Attack someone, get shot. That is justice. What is not justice is the NG arresting and taking the firearms from the patriots when they arrive, just assuming that they are criminals.
That’s not the NG, that’s a swat/crt team. And arriving on scene and disarming everyone is a safely measure to prevent someone from randomly grabbing a gun and shooting, even injured officers are disarmed when responding to active shooter scenes.
Thanks for the info. I assumed they weren't swat only because they weren't in all black. Securing the scene, "Safety measures" isn't good enough of a reason for me to justify people temporarily losing their liberty and being treated like they did something wrong. Maybe I'm too hardcore, that's just me.
The immediacy of the situation (an active shooter) requires complete control of the situation until you figure out who is who. It’s safer to disarm a legal carrier then give their gun back to them than to engage in a 360 degree shootout with an unknown number of combatants.
And remember, these public servants most likely just heard there was a shooting (with no details or backstory) and were told to respond. They’re just trying to go home at the end of their shift, not knowing if they’re responding to a self-defense situation in the middle of a mob of shitheads or some BLM mass shooter like in Dallas in 2016. My opinion is that the benefit of the doubt goes to the guy sticking his ass on the line every day.
