Google is impossible to use anymore. So much garbage comes up for even the easiest completely non-political search that I use duckduckgo. The problem I have with duckduckgo is the name. It's awkward as a verb and impossible in the past tense, but that's probably just me.

"Duck it" "DDG" "Search it" "Look it up"

That's interesting, I guess I have to find a new search engine now. This search string returns blatant propaganda on DDG. On an unrelated note, a lot of you all need to learn the difference between libertarians and anarchists.

Is DDG actually a search engine or does it just use google but anonymize you?

They have their own algorithms, you can use something like "!g" along with your search query to use google anonymized but by default the search implementation seems to be unique to DDG.

if you think that you using DuckDuckGo is going to change the fact that Google still controls most of what people see hear and read then you are foolish and delusional. It doesn't matter what website you use. you are not as important as you think you are. The world does not revolve around you..

billions of other people are doing things that matter much more than what you're doing..

I know that if you live in a small town if maybe 500 people you might have an overinflated sense of how much you matter because you're just one out of five hundred but in reality you're one out of 7 billion..

seven billion people on the planet. You're just one of them. you don't matter as much as you think you do. And whatever website you use to search for things doesn't affect what other people do..

left understands this very simple concept. which is why they promote Facebook and Google censorship. Because they know that that is how they silence their enemies. They know that it doesn't matter if you're using DuckDuckGo as long as they can still use Google to censor people. it's a very simple concept on the left is more than able to understand it. The right-wing being mostly boomers seems to have difficulty understanding things that happened on the internet..

they don't want to accept the reality that many people will do bad things if they're allowed to. Libertarians don't like that idea. They don't want to accept reality. And that's what prevents them from accepting the truth and coming to real conclusions and real solutions

It really is useless. Search results are meaningless. I hate that I have so much invested in Gmail, Drive, Android, bookmarks etc.

It doesn't even resemble a "search engine" anymore.

It's like what Google was made to replace. Sites like Yahoo that could never really effectively search the web and acted more like a curated portal.

Now do a simple search on Google, and you end up with a bunch of WaPo and LA Times links!
