A huge majority of Americans saw what Chauvin did and their knee jerk reaction is that something needs to be DONE. They’re trying to paint Trump as ineffectual and because no one understands how our system works they are to a large measure succeeding. So he had to DO something.
Petty criminals on the street is always a bad thing but the real criminals are the organizers and those who fund them. We cut off the head and the body will disappear. If it looks like he’s attacking people with “legitimate grievances” (what everyone seems to believe bc of media) then this will turn catastrophic for him.
