My group in the company i work for is getting involved in some tracing app activity across the entire US.

My confidentiality agreement will not let me disclose much if anything but here are the things to note:

  1. Many 3rd parties are getting involved in many different layers (sub contractors to subcontractors). This is making security hard to audit. This needs to be flushed out.

  2. When 3rd parties are involved, in the FED space, things remain confidential with exception to some communications. When 3rd parties are involved with State and Local governments, some states do not protect 3rd parties from FOIA requests unless specified in the contract, and sometimes only protects source code of software.

  3. Look out for no bid awards of contracts. This is almost completely illegal with some minor exceptions. If you see this, contact someone like Judicial Watch ASAP

  4. The applications are being made so that, even if you do not participate, if anyone that has your contact information logged or saved somewhere, you are part of the tracking.

  5. no one is asking if there is 3rd party funding tracing (Micro$oft?) that is not being disclosed, and this should be investigated

  6. if anyone asks you or offers to add you, try stating the term you want to "opt-out" since that is a legal term versus a non-objection. Even though this might not have weight today, if enough mention it, it may come back to privacy laws and HIPAA laws.

Can we use COVID tracing apps to determine membership in domestic terrorist organizations?

No, of course not. It'll just be used to shit on law enforcement and conservatives

Depending on the state or country you live in you have the ability to opt-out of any data collect about your persons. If presented the opportunity I would advise selecting that option. They will say shit that it’s anonymized or pseudo-anonmized. In order for it work it has to be linked to an individual. Avoid downloading any app that uses geo-location (I.e cell phones). Bluetooth is a better route if it’s on a key fob, but don’t take it anywhere outside of your work environment.

I’m in a similar situation at my company. It’s a privacy nightmare.

HIPAA data can be used in research and government programs, and in some states, cases or circumstances, you can request to opt-out.
