I always thought the term, 'African-American' was similarly insulting to blacks, in that it qualifies their American citizenship as being not only different from 'normal' Americans, but fundamentally foreign. As if their first allegiance is to Africa. It immediately creates an identity which Leftists college students would call "the other."
I bet it's only a matter of time before their endless quest for grievances tackles that "highly problematic" verbiage. lol
