I love Scott Adams. His book Loserthink and his podcast have been mostly helpful keeping me sane during the lockdowns and mostly peaceful riots.

However, he's not a conservative. He seems much more interested in whether an argument is persuasive than whether it actually makes any sense. So he often acts as though simply presenting a persuasive argument to someone like Jake Tapper or Tim Pool, you can get them to agree with your policy recommendations. Then when they use their usual persuasion technique of calling everyone a racist or liar, he blocks them.

If I were to guess, I would think that the big red pill is something that conservatives already know to be true, and that liberals don't care whether it is true or not.

Bombshell: Government is too big, involved in everything! KABOOM! Why doesn't Trump listen to people like Bongino and a bunch of conservative retired special ops guys instead? /sigh

He seems much more interested in whether an argument is persuasive than whether it actually makes any sense.

To be frank, making an argument persuasive is the most important factor in winning a debate. Your argument doesn't have to make sense, and in fact doesn't even have to be right, for you to win as long as you can persuade everyone listening.

That's called sophistry. That's part of what lead to the fall of Rome. Sophistry only works on the overly emotional and stupid.

4
DeadOverRed 4 points ago +4 / -0

That's . . . umm. . . what do you call it? Idiotic. The reason for a persuasive argument is because humans are logical beings, meaning the most logical argument should be the most persuasive. When humans cease being logical, the purpose of persuasive arguments ceases to exist. At that point, I suggest overwhelming force.

4
ProudWhiteMan 4 points ago +4 / -0

the thing is then the argument isn't persuasive to informed listeners

We've had quite enough persuasive arguments that aren't grounded in truth (see Obama). I'd rather convince people of truth than win points for style.

Agreed. But I am hopeful the Trump administration is working with psychologists, and even hypnotologists, in reversing the demoralization and brainwashing caused by communist subversion.

has Adams ever really been the hannity "tick tock" type. from what ive seen in the past it would be a hard no from me but i also dont follow him closely. These are strange days pedes

6
_____ 6 points ago +6 / -0

He hyped up one of his persicopes last month. He said it would be the most imoprtant one he had ever done and would change everything. I tuned in, but it was nothing really out of the ordinary or different in signifance to many of his periscopes (which I still enjoy). So he lost a little rapport with me for that; I've seen him over-hype.

5
salvecitizen 5 points ago +5 / -0

No he hasn't. He likes to do high-brow above-it-all stuff, but not Q-like mystery theater. This is weird.

You just nailed the hell out of it. I think the VAST majority of these problems come from social media. The problems themselves are old, but the veracity of them has gone way up. It's been a big double edged sword. Before they started shutting down all right leaving voices, it was a way to break free of the mainstream media soapbox. Now that it's being censored, it's just a more focused and intense blast of the leftist propaganda, with the added benefit to the left that they can mobilize and send mobs against any dissenters.

As a Constitutional Conservative, Here's my Observation/Prediction:

Scott Adams is someone I can pay attention to, We are contemporaries in Age.

He is "further Left than Bernie" His Words, on some issues.

IDK, in the 50's & 60's America, the Majority of people were Semi Middle of the political spectrum, conversations could be had, & respectful Heated Debates, facilitated largely because the same majority were country Loving Americans, a necessary commonality for a political debate to be had. Politics was always meant to be a verbal brawl, and to the extent that all could be heard, that is the principal ingredient to peaceful transition of power.

While I do not agree with Adams on most of his positions, I can hear him out because he makes a reasoned argument-mostly calm. I find his attempts at defining methods of debate, while outlining observable methods of persuasion pretty accurate, the goal being exchange of ideas between opposing viewpoints. Otherwise, any sort of interchange devolves into clear camps of shouting.

In short, I watch his dailys to try to understand the gist of the leftist viewpoint. Ya can't argue against it, nor present your conservative case in a manner that they can adsorb until you can semi figure out where they are coming from.

During the Covid -psyop, He was a Study in RealTime of the psychological impact of it all on people who filter their whole or most of life thru their Emotional Feelings. I think he did have a rough time of it psychologically, he drank the scaremongering cool-aid insofar as he acted under strict self imposed quarantine Due to our age-group initially thought to be really vulnerable. SOOOOO Many people don't cope well being physically & emotionally isolated.

To me the lockdown was mostly how I normally deal with winter & flu/cold season. I have intellectual pursuits and a shitton of hobbies & skills I exercise, and I enjoy alone time (as an introvert INJT, it charges my batteries) Contrast that it prevented Adams at times, dealing with things as his left leaning logic failed him, or rather me.

I sometimes thought he was omitting some current News/facts, but it later became obvious he just was not seeing that information. Plus his obstinate rules of engagement can make it difficult to get that info to him, on the otherhand, those engagement rules are useful in developing a better argument or method to put that info out -It's obvious to see MSM actively using the same structures that they acquired watching Adams too.

As to what his giant allude to incoming Redpill is ?

it could be anything, really. What he thinks is giant may not be the same for me.

I see the convergence of the slow grind of legal unwinding of the coup, Clinton-RICO, Leftist Media collusion and propaganda, Deep-State, Big Tech Collusion via Monopoly, UK, AUS, China, Russia Subversion in our systems -all of it, slowly coming to light, Exposure of their mostly documented Plan and as complex as the 8 Seasons of Game of Thrones. Throw the gasoline of the Covid Walking Dead Dystopia, light up the Ignorant to protest to be usurped, and we find ourselves in the Midst of the Globalists Last gasp throwing the full spectrum of levers of power.

for myself, the giant red pill would not only to have all that exposed in all the expected Media & reports, but having it all Prosecuted in public, in court, in media, and ultimately in the Upcoming November Election.

My Hope is that this is not simply an Election Strategy, Rather that it is a JUSTICE strategy that ultimately Warrants Reformation of Economic, Governmental, Social, insanity imposed by the globalist 100-year plan.

I also see the possible employment of most or all of the patriot act provisions, triggered to deal with it all, the Jaded Insurrection backfires & provides the excuse.

Finally, it is Quite possible, the islamic undercurrents in this current insurrection May be exposed and result in defining many of the organizations as illegal and perhaps even prosecuted to further expose their use by all of the above as useful idiots, up to and including Farrakhan's flavor of American islam.

By Design as a whole or by individual cases, President Trump and his officers have a giant task, that the Next four years may only define the perimeter of the iceberg.

We MUST Give him a House & Senate, in order to codify in LAW, the Majority of his executive actions, otherwise the next president can undo it all much like he has undone Obama !

Remember in NOVEMBER !!

Make Sense ?

Why would a loving God do anything for us? The church sold out to government by accepting the tax exempt status even though Jesus said give to Caesar what is Caesars. 501c3 has strings, no politics.

.

Now Christians are too lazy to go out and vote. They want big daddy to take care of everything so they dont have to be bothered with unpleasantries.

.

Pastors wont bring social issues to the forefront and convinces church members to just let big sugar daddy in the sky take care of it.

.

Im Christian and Im extremely disappointed with the church and their lack of interest in this country.

When God intervened in the past, he almost always used people to change the world. When he had to do it himself it was devastating...remember the flood?

1
salvecitizen 1 point ago +1 / -0

Maybe a loving God doesn't place so much emphasis on the church and its pastors, but he still cares about His people.

1
FudgyFudgeBots 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes, he cares about his people but it doesnt mean he will bail them out. Remember, the jews were enslaved for hundreds of years before he sent Moses to rescue them and they were His chosen people. .

When your children refuse to take care of what you have given them and fail to appreciate it, sometimes they need a little tough love.

You should consider the possibility that there are no gods. They are simply advanced lifeforms that have lived far longer than us. Ive been obsessed with the subject for 10 years. If you read about ancient contact with gods things make a lot more sense if you view them as an advanced people instead of magic beings. There are beings that are helping us and there are beings trying to enslave us. Prayer is telepathy, it works. Use strong emotions to guide your thoughts. Do not let yourself fall into despair.

2
SharpCookie 2 points ago +2 / -0

Same. It actually got me back into religion (well, reading religious texts) in a way that, for the first time really, was detached from my upbringing's versions of it. Their way of thinking about these ancient texts and monoliths was a big "aha" moment to me and it's helped a lot with how I view humanity, consciousness, religion, love, death. Really positive people and I love their stuff.

Starseed 0 points ago +1 / -1

If you would like to have a discussion then PM me. If youre going to insult me because of my beliefs then you can fuck off. Demons are made up boogymen. Like i said before ancient people mistook advanced beings for gods, same thing goes with demons. There are evil beings out there trying to influence us for sure and im sure ive been effected but i do not seek out malevolent entities.

I've been an atheist my entire life, but there i no more evidence of superior life forms than Gods. I have found it interesting over the past 50+ years that as overall faith in God has decreased, faith in extraterrestrials has increased, with the same amount of evidence.

We may feel the need to believe in other life because intuition says there must be in a universe this large, but there is still no real evidence.

People want to believe there is more, for a number of often good reasons.

2
Starseed 2 points ago +2 / -0

I've been an atheist my entire life, but there i no more evidence of superior life forms than Gods.

I disagree. Theres far more evidence of advanced life forms than a god or gods. For fucks sake the military just released footage of a ufo and said they exist. I became an atheist at 12 years old. Ever since then ive been obsessed with extraterrestrials and i really do believe our ancestors saw these advanced beings and treated them like gods. Go look through ancient religious stories and instead of these “acts of god” try to imagine how modern tech could explain some of that stuff.

I have found it interesting over the past 50+ years that as overall faith in God has decreased, faith in extraterrestrials has increased,

Theres a good reason for that. they let info about them slowly leak out so there isnt mass panic when the truth is finally revealed. If im right then full disclosure is close.

It's prideful to think we're the best there is so something else with consciousness has gotta be more powerful.

The word youre looking for is hubris not pride.

The most likely scenario is that we've created the idea of gods in our own image.

See, i think its the opposite. People always say god created us in his own image but they never try to explain how. Well modern knowledge of genetics and DNA support the idea that we may be hybrids. These advanced beings came to earth long ago and spliced their genes with the most advanced primates of the time. I have a few theories explaining why they made us but i have no proof as of now.
