The Democrats are bringing this up big time because Trump originally planned to have his rally on June 19. They complained that Trump was insensitive (and racist) for choosing this day. Trump changed it to the 20th. Now all of a sudden, Juneteenth is a big thing. I am 55 and have never heard of it before.
Governor Blackface McKlanrobe in Virginia has just made June 19th a State holiday. I thought the world records being broken in the COVID Fear Pander Olympics would never be broken...but here we are a couple of months later and the records are falling like raindrops in the Racial Pander Olympics.
Juneteenth is a real thing. It's just not something most people outside of blacks in the South ever heard of or celebrated.
The point is more people know about juneteenth because people bitched about a Trump rally than had it passed by with little fanfare like normal.

I've never heard of it in my entire life until today when I saw it on my Google calendar and I live in the south.
Apparently it's a State holiday here now. Ok.
