The national media keeps tagging on Texas. We have plenty of unused hospital capacity and low deaths, even if positive cases are rising. We never reall had a peak. The Governor isn't going to ruin our economy over a virus most everyone survives.
And now we have to fight the "Safetyism" mentality. People have been brainwashed and are now terrified of everything. The whole mask thing drives me nuts, and every time I heard the words social distancing and the stupid radio commercials about how safe everything is I want to fucking puke.
My boss insists on keeping the radio on during work hours. Often times it's set to npr, but even when it's o na generic music channel I keep hearing commercials spouting, "We're all in this, together!" and just can't roll my eyes hard enough.
The lockdown was not intended to save lives. Everybody was misled about that so that they would go along with it.
They made the same arguments back in 1973 or whenever it was that they put in the national 55mph speed limit. It was intended to save fuel, but eventually it got twisted around so "55 saves lives!!!" became the slogan.
This is just a setup for the future. Now we KNOW how they will deal with conservatives. The dem governors and mayors will lockdown the country for the common cold and will arrest anyone resisting the 'vaccine'. The 'woke' cops will happily herd us into the reeducation centers.
... and it has NEVER been demonstrated to have been EFFECTIVE at slowing down anything except the economy and society.

It was ONLY supposed to make sure we never ran out of ventilators, etc., which never happened and won't happen now.
We went from 14 days to slow the spread to however long it takes to solve the problem of mortality.

I agree, lockdowns are all a sham, but aren't all states open now? Are there any states still imposing mandatory lockdowns?
If most of us are inevitably going to face this highly contagious virus, we are better off doing this while the weather is warm!
