This whole thing would have been avoided if the cops weren't afraid to use more force when they had him on the ground. They didn't pin him to the ground, which gave him the opportunity to grab the tazer, and then they still were too cautious about increasing use of force, which allowed him to get up and then run away with the tazer.

You’d also get banned for any mention of facts. After he got shot, everyone popped out of their cars with cameras. The things some of them said were fucking ridiculous.

If they were there the whole time, they just saw him beat up the cops and take their taser and try shooting one of them in the face with it and run off and hit another with the taser. He was being talked to because he was so drunk he passed out in his car in the middle of a Wendy’s drive thru.
Personally, considering how patient that cop was about all of it as it went on, I’d promote him. I personally still miss the old days where if someone tried hinting at pulling that kind of shit, you just beat them down with night sticks. There’d be a lot less death’s at the hands of police if we let them use nonlethal and less than lethal force a lot earlier. The second he pulled away with the cuffs on, beat him down with a night stick. Or just tase him in the ass. Have the taser out the whole time. Have it pointed at him. Treating him like a crazy idiot sooner would have saved all their lives. Still not sad he was shot though after seeing what happened. Maybe rubber bullets as the initial rounds could have helped? Still lacking on empathy here for the crazy drunk guy with priors that caused this.

I watch a lot of cop body cam and its remarkable there isn't 10x the amount of cop on suspect violence.

I haven’t seen them much until recently, but I mostly thought the same thing. You pull up to someone and check their record. They’re a fucking piece of shit that beats their wife and abandoned their children and steals and robs pregnant women at gunpoint and is on drugs. They’re also typically bigger guys with meat on them. They’re clearly breaking the law, so you make a motion to talk to them and calmly put them under arrest because hey, guess what, that’s what you do for a living. Douchebag’s been cursing at you the whole time and acting like he’s going to beat you up. Then what do you know he starts trying to beat you up. You take a few to the face, you try to calm him down. Then he takes your taser/gun/fucking anything and starts using it on your partner and pointing it at you.
You can’t exactly call 911 because that’s you, you’re the cavalry, you’re the help. There’s nobody coming, it’s just you against an objectively failed person that’s now trying to hurt you and your friends because you tried arresting them for knowingly breaking the law in ways that at times would lead to someone else dying, like drunk driving. The guys that get shot in these situations aren’t ‘having a bad night’, they had a bad life, and this is a continued escalation of that. They’re ‘the bad guys’. It’s them. They’re the villain. If the villain, while the fucking heroes in blue are trying to be nice to them despite being shat on by everyone including them, then starts violently attacking the cop on top of that, shooting them seems like justice being served. It’s all on camera now to show what’s actually happening, and people have records that are quite literally their character on paper.
It’s not about their race. What are they going to do, go back to prison for years and cost tax payers hundreds of thousands, then come out and do it again? Have a few oops babies and not pay child support and head back in? Stop committing crimes and stop attacking police officers and maybe you’ll stop getting shot. But if you do get shot and that’s how it went down, you’re the villain. Justice was served. The bad guy is you. They finally took your dumbass down.

Literally people at the scene pretending like he wasn’t drunk, the police were there for no reason, he didn’t just try to fight them, he didn’t steal a taser, and then he didn’t proceed to fire the taser at officers.

No, he was convicted in 2015 and only served 4 months of his 9 year sentence before they let him out on parole. The WuFlu release is just made up bullshit, he's been out for years.

A few weeks ago there was absolutely no way that guy would have been able to get up. The cops would be smashing his face into the ground with their knees dug into his back like they're trained to do.
the police have been put in an impossible situation. they can save a life by using appropriate force, but then be fired or charged if that force looks bad on camera, or they can use appropriate force and if the person dies they get fired or charged with murder. There is no winning.
No kidding. Couldn't entice me into law enforcement as a job after watching all this. No pay is worth possibly being locked up for life for just trying to do your job.

Yeah, floyd was going to die that day no matter what, he just happened to die in police custody. Hell, even if the cop didn't put his knee on his neck, he would have still died and these riots would have still happened simply because he was in police custody when he died.
