Brooks appeared to have an open warrant in Georgia for the original offenses of False Imprisonment, Cruelty to Children, Family Violence, Battery and Simple Battery. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/06/revealed-rayshard-brooks-struggled-police-stole-taser-shot-police-likely-didnt-want-go-prison-based-prior-record/

Wouldn't the police have seen the warrant when they ran his driver's license? They would have to bring him in, not let him walk home or call for a ride.

Wait he had a warrant for all that? What were they doing for 30 minutes, was that ultra long line of questioning really important? He can't remember how many drinks.. why waste so much time trying to get him to say he had more drinks just do the damn test I don't get it.

Also I love Trump and I'm definitely not a libtard, but.. I don't agree that the officer was in danger, it was a stun gun, he should not have shot the man 4 times. If he was so intoxicated then they should've have just chased him and beat the shit out of him. Or maybe 1 shot, to the leg? He didn't deserve to die, but the officer certainly doesn't either. He made a bad split second decision, getting fired and 5 years probation is more than fair imo

You’re an officer armed with a gun and a taser. Someone takes your taser from you and attempts to incapacitate you with it, which would give them access to your firearm.

What do you do?

There are just too many moving parts here. If I was a cop right now, I would shirley be aware of the shit situation our country is in and therefore think twice about shooting to kill a dui suspect who did not have a lethal weapon who was running away.

The 40 minutes of talking was way too much don't they have better things to do? It should have been no talking, just sobriety test and arrest or no arrest. He said plainly "Im ready to go home" right before the officer tried to cuff him, didn't seem out of control. Maybe they should have given him the choice to walk home and leave the car or go to jail.

If I was a cop I would've known that trying to tase me while running away from me while being out of range would not incapacitate me, that it's more of a desperate move from an intoxicated person. In my opinion he was trying to get away, to "go home" , that sad attempt of trying to tase the cop back was a deserate act to slow the cop down enough so he can somehow outrun him and his partner. I think they will have a hard time trying to convince a jury Brooks goal was to incapacitate the cop long enough to steal his firearm, and then shoot them both down in front of all those people.

He wasn’t running away. If you are running away then you aren’t aiming and firing a taser at a cop. Why didn’t he just drop the taser and book it?

I would shirley be aware of the shit situation our country is in and therefore think twice

Ironically that’s probably what got him killed. The officers were going easy on him. Should have just tased him immediately instead of warning him.

Or maybe 1 shot, to the leg?

Really? This is not the movies.

Ok fair enough, I suppose that would be harder to do, and there's also the possibility of ricochets. How about a just a couple shots in the air that seems to get most peoples attention, then if the bastard keeps running he's obviously crazy and maybe should be put down.

I think he was unjustified in shooting brooks, I type that with a straight face, but at the same he was doing the job he was trained for. Would a long prison sentence bring justice to Brooks and his family? No, the guy shouldn't have been drinking and driving and should not have assaulted the officers. All around bad situation, but not racist.. Maybe for that reason this will red pill some of these lifelong dems in atlanta
