I need your help.
I'm from London, and I'd like to go on holiday and wear my Union Jack Tee-shirt. I'm not allowed to wear this in Britain of course because any public display of Britishness, (our actual culture) is racist and xenophobic and I would be spat on.
I am of course allowed to proudly wear the colours of any other nation just not my own. So I thought I'd have a holiday from all these complete intolerant wankers and holiday in the USA!
I want to go to a city in the US that will tolerate the freedom of me wearing my tee-shirt. I also want to meet proud people of the US, the type who hang their flags outside their houses, like I used to see from movies in the 1980s. Communities that look after one another and have strong values and love.
Does such a place still exist in the US? if so my US friends, where should I holiday?
Try Amtrak’s California Zephyr from Chicago to San Francisco. Or take the Amtrak Empire Builder from Chicago to Seattle (avoid Chaz/Chop). Stop in Glacier National Park in Montana for a couple of days and ride on a red bus tour on the Going-to-the-Sun road. From Washington state or Montana, take an excursion up to Vancouver, B.C., or Banff, Alberta, (Canadian border closed thru late July for non-essential travel). They would love your Tee! If you like hiking go to Colorado and climb Mt. Elbert. River rafting in Tennessee is great! There is actually lots to do in Tucson, Arizona (but hot right now). Door County in Wisconsin is awesome in the summer. Lots of Patriots in beautiful Idaho. You’d like an old book called, “Walk Across America” by Peter Jenkins. Thanks for visiting, friend!
That sounds just like the ticket! Thanks.
