You're suppose to be hearing officers/dispatchers talking to each other....but that's not occurring because all of the officers are basically on strike. No one is doing anything anymore!
i imagine something. anything. not silence.
What you should be hearing is call outs to officers to respond to calls for service... officers checking in. officers calling in that they are out on traffic stops. occasional license plate checks.
Lets say a cop pulls a guy over for a tail light being out you'd hear something like:
Cop: 1224 ill be out with a white honda at 5th and main for a tail light Dispatch: roger 1224 2145 Another cop: 1556 I'll be direct to that traffic stop
Whats allt hsi mean? A cop,badge 1224 pulled over a honda at the corner or area of 5th and main, dispatch responds by acknowledging the officers call and gives the time (The dispatcher then logs it, and where the officer is etc and marks them out of service)
Then another cop, badge 1556 is saying he'll go there to back him up.
Someone needs to call the stations directly and ask if this is true lol

Is anyone credible backing this up? Relying on links to livestreams of radio broadcasts that you've never tried listening to before sounds dubious to me.
So you're hearing untrained dispatchers? I thought people were saying it's dead silent?
I imagine that even if they can get some outside cops to come into Atlanta for major issues, those cops are going to be thinking, "Do I want to be the only cop in the whole city in the middle of some mob? What do they think I am, delta force? Hard pass"

Atlanta PD claims they have enough officers, although there are more people calling out than usual.
I mean, if the walk out was true, they aint gonna come out and say "Yep, we aint go enough cops on duty"
You gotta read between those lines. they HAVE enough officers, but officers are calling out for the NEXT SHIFT. meaning the night shift aint coming in.

no dispatchers, no officers, just dead air. That means there's no response when shit does go down. Gonna be getting very soon in Atlanta. There will most likely be a LOT going on very soon.
Is it possible that it's dead for another reason? Maybe they use encrypted communication. Unless you're a regular listener of their radio, you don't know what a normal amount sounds like in that area.
And wouldn't there be dispatchers trying to call units and getting no answer?
Multiple cities have switched to encrypted communication during the riots to prevent the criminals from listening and coordinating.
yeah look at the listener count on the feeds. last i saw like 6k people listening in. wasn't there like 1 more Zone waiting to walk away?

Click on the title of the post. The second dispatch on the list is zone 5. I just heard something about a man barely breathing I think. You only hear dispatch, not officer radio talk.

its a link so you can listen in on a police scanner, where the police get calls from dispatch for crimes. There is a rumor that Atlanta PD are walking off the job. If you listen, the scanners are largely silent. We don't know if this means there is a walkoff, or if it means that the scanner is usually pretty silent and all of this is BS.
TDLR no one knows if Atlanta PD have walked off, and the scanner doesn't really shed light on it.

I don't normally listen to these. Is there usually a lot of chatter going on? Been in zone 6 for about 5 minutes and it's silent.
I've heard one "call" the past hour.. and the guy has kept the mic keyed open...but like in a quiet room? Its not just regular silence now but "mic" on silence if that makes sense.
Has anyone setup a gofund me or something to support officers that are striking?
I think they have a union or something that helps with that?
Ok, I've been listening to Zone 6 for about an hour and a half now and I will hear very occasional chatter. Maybe 1 minute of conversation for every 10-15 minutes. Is that normal?
Probably not. I live in a small-medium city and the scanner traffic is nearly constant between fire and EMS.
Blue flu is the answer in solidarity related to corruption in high ranks for codemning police officer actions too harshly. It seems as if the accountability is performed wrongly.
