You just triggered a memory: Home sick from work one day, look out the window and see a wounded deer crossing the 22-acre potato field beside my house. See motion across the road: State F&W truck pulls off at the vegetable stand across the state road pulls a scoped rifle out of the back seat and levels the rifle across said state road and pops off a couple shots at the wounded deer. Tosses rifle back in and takes off around the field toward the houses on the other side of the field on Swamp Rd.
Moron shot across a state road with houses behind his target. *shudder*
Ha! You just triggered my memory. Deer with 3 legs, fourth one only hanging on by skin, in a corporate park area, near a golf course, is running into our businesses front windows repeatedly. Call police, they call whatever department handles it.
Two of them get on a golf cart, and one tries to drive to catch up with the deer while the other is shooting a 9mm/.40 pistol at it. They were well within pistol range to hit residential/commercial areas. I guess they thought a golf cart could outrun a 3 legged deer. They were wrong, but still had shots fired. They didn't get a rifle, they decided to do a deer drive-by hit in a golf cart.
I give them some credit, since I think they tried it because the deer had become a safety issue to people.
