Of course he will. He should have been brought up on manslaughter charges and not murder. That would stick and he would serve prison time.

He played it exactly how someone who wanted to keep this shit show going would:

  • Over charge in the hopes to get him to plea down to involuntary, vindicating mob rule and empowering them to continue rioting.

  • Go to trial resulting in acquittal or mistrial. Inciting more rioting close to the election.

The defense here has a decent case. Expect chaos when Chauvin gets acquitted and Rolfe gets 20 years. Given the facts we know, this very well could be the way these cases go.
