This needs to happen to show the insanity of that goal to the public. Besides, if there was a possibility you could be brought up on capital murder charges for doing your damn job correctly, would you go into work?

That's what it is, sadly. Ever look at deep blue zones on an election map, voted Dems for 50 years and the place is an absolute shithole? And wondered "how?? What would it take to make them see??"

Well, this is it. Theres a reason Nixon won 49 states.

HuggableBear 1 point ago +1 / -0

Theres a reason Nixon won 49 states.

Reagan, pal. Not Nixon.

1
SharpCookie 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't know the details offhand but he's referencing the 1968 riots that led to nixon winning.

2
HuggableBear 2 points ago +2 / -0

No, 72 was the landslide, not 68. And while he won the vote in 49 states, he's not officially credited with it since there was a faithless elector in Virginia that voted third party. It's mostly just semantics and a trivia question. Reagan was the only one to receive the full electoral votes of 49 states.

1
SharpCookie 1 point ago +1 / -0

Right, I think the person was just mushing them all incorrectly into one event.

1
Bigblue725 1 point ago +1 / -0

Reagan too yes. Nixon in 1972 was re-elected with 49 states.

1
HuggableBear 1 point ago +1 / -0

I guess we're arguing semantics since this is basically a Jeopardy question, but technically Nixon only carried 48 states because of the faithless elector in Virginia. Again, semantics.

And the civic hellfire that will rain down for decades when it's proven that these people and their ideas were, are, and forever will be garbage. This is just more of the post WWII, neo Marxist bullshit from the losers of humanity.

And the people who live and pay taxes in that area are not happy about it and trying to figure a way out of there. That is how this plays out. Detroit all over again. I welcome it as long as these people have learned their lesson and never vote D again.

Sometimes you have to let the dumbass, know-it-all child touch the hot burner even when you have done everything in your power to teach them the consequences.

So you think this is improving the public's opinion of the left's rhetoric....really?

No ones happy that people are going to die. No ones happy that violence and destruction is coming.

We're happy because people are fighting back.

We're sick of people rolling over and placating insane people.

THIS

11
ChilledCovfefe 11 points ago +11 / -0

Yes exactly. Fight back! About 3/4 of the population is brainwashed right now, people need a smack in the face to wake up. They are vilifying cops nationwide. If I was a cop I would walk away too.

First rule of politics: don't stop your opponents from hurting themselves

This is Atlanta, not the whole country. This mess is going to change a whole lot of hearts and minds in a Democrat stronghold.

The Republicans didn't do this. They did this to themselves.

The police aren't gone. They're giving Atlanta a free trial of their shitty policy before it becomes law

7

Think of it this way; Accomplishing their goal will lead to their own demise.

6
FudgyFudgeBots 6 points ago +6 / -0

Its a lose lose situation. On one hand you have police that are afraid to do their job and are subject to abuse. On the other, theres risk of a nationalized police force.

Neither is a good choice. The good thing about the police quitting is that it is so shocking that its waking people up. Without a shock to the system, most will stay asleep as communists continue their takeover.

14
Lla26 14 points ago +14 / -0

The police have no choice. They risk their lives on the job every single minute and day and now they are being attacked from all sides with nothing to protect them. I think there needs to be total reform that respects and protects both the police and the public. I’m glad the police are stepping away until they’re being treated respectfully and fairly.

There is no way I would report to duty in any city at this point. As I just heard David Ike put it (regarding face masks)- “If you concede to stupid, you are stupid”. Do not acquiesce to those who would charge you for murder for doing your damn job.

Can you imagine what the families of these officers are thinking? Not only are the targets on their backs 10x bigger, but their city politicians are taking shots at them too. It’s insane, and if you think going into work where insanity and chaos is a recipe for success, I disagree wholeheartedly.

You keep saying this over and over again and people are explaining to you how it helps us and yet you seem to be covering your ears and repeating "la la la I cant hear you."

Lots of people in Venezuela thought socialism was a great idea until they got it. Now they realize it sucks and they want to get rid of it.

Sometimes people can not see what the impact of their decision would be ahead of time so they have to learn the hard way. Let this happen in Atlanta so that they will realize this is not the way. Meanwhile in Seattle people who live in CHAZ and pay taxes in that area have gone from protesting right along with their occupiers to "shit how do I move way from here when I can't get a moving truck in?"

4
45forever 4 points ago +4 / -0

I think people aren’t happy, they are relieved that the cops are standing up for themselves. We need to change the direction of this crazy path and it will start within the ranks of the police.

It’s not a happy moment, it’s necessary.

Most people don't know that Atlanta's main problem and only problem is crime. The police leave means its going to be a free for all.

Most people don't know that Atlanta has had an unbroken string of Democrat mayors for 141 years. Last Republican mayor served from 1877-1879.

9
KuzoKevin 9 points ago +9 / -0

Atlanta can pay their social workers overtime. Problem solved.

8
eddieblasphemy 8 points ago +8 / -0

This accomplishes all of that but at an expedited manner

6
sustainable_saltmine 6 points ago +6 / -0

Cops can only take so much being shit on before morale is so low they've had enough. Democrat voters need to see what happens when they keep pushing for less cops, defunding cops and constantly painting cops as predators and blacks as victims. Cops are sick of being stressed out daily having to second guess how to handle a tense situation because if they use force, they will end up fired or like this officer in Atlanta. Guaranteed the officer is facing ridiculous charges because the perp was black and the DA is a corrupt black guy looking to score points with local black voters in his own runoff election, but still

we need to show the Democrats just what it means when they want to "defund the police" and how no one is coming to save them if they face the wrath of the rioters, looters and violent blacks

Let liberal cities and states burn to the ground. Who cares? Im serious, who cares if liberals kill liberals and destroy where they live? Not me. Those cops can go work in red states or private security once the rich are the only ones who get it.

I think most of us aren't cheering their doom, as much as cheering the tough love lesson potential presented to the voters of Atlanta and Georgia. Btw, did you know Atlanta has had an unbroken string of Democrat mayors for 141 years? This is their problem to fix.

I live in another, bigger liberal hellhole, and I'm surrounded by people who don't recognize the dangers in their stupid votes, and the policies they encourage. They need extremely hard lessons to pierce the leftist indoctrination. It's amazing to see them fail to see the connection when the bad times are limited.

Now, moving to Trump's role here. He can't move troops into every major city around the country, which is what would be required. The governor's of each state can call up their own National Guard internally. Constitutional, a POTUS is there to support states, not dictate their internal policies. Influence, and encourage yes, dictate and forcibly change no. That concept had been muddied over the last 100 years, but generally still holds.

rcstl 3 points ago +3 / -0

I think to word "happy" is incorrect. You are correct about the goal. What we may be smirking about is that there is now a clear test bed to demonstrate the folly of the enemies goal. I guarantee you the ATL subs and rural areas are armed up and waiting for overflow. The evil left will learn that they are better off with a carefully controlled police force rather than a bunch of angry rednecks.

3
Independepede 3 points ago +3 / -0

I think this is a good question. Think about it as "tough love". We do our best to protect our kids, but sometimes they just don't listen and need to experience the harsh reality of life to internalize the lesson. To me, it's good for two reasons. First it offers those who are literally asking for abolishing police a reality check of what life is like without police. Second, it may rally our base and may wake the sleeping giant. People who already know that losing police protection is not good may be forced to organize and defend their person and property. I pray they fight back, look out for each other, and provide valuable lessons learned from the experience. [edit: I'm saying it is an overall net good - the benefits will likely outweigh the obvious drawbacks that you are pointing out.]

I think it’s good the police officers are walking off the job because then it gives a true chance for the patriots of the city to come out and kick the shit out of those liberal assholes without any repercussions, But I guess we have way too many pussies on our side to do anything about it, Sorry but I’m basically pissed about everything especially the tearing down of historical monuments

but we should trust the legal system to fix it, then the voting system to fix him

Will never happen. The system IS broken, but not for the reason the protesters think

Anyway, we know this is a short term thing. It will open up eyes real quick when you give people what they wish for. It exposes the hollow nature of their professed goals

1

I don't want our officers to be put in a dangerous situation where they might hesitate when their life is on the line. I also don't want our officers be prosecuted and threatened with a death penalty for doing their job. That is why I support the Blue Flu.

2
Aedenwolf187 2 points ago +2 / -0

Let them burn the cities down. Regular people are taking notes on who's praising these lunatics and letting them run wild. After November Trump will have more flexibility, at least according to Obama that's how politics works.

1
FuckRioters 1 point ago +1 / -0

Personally, I see this as a good thing because people are pushing back. Pushing back against the insane BLM nonsense, and insane pandering to the BLM crowd.

I didn't realize that activist judges, mayors, governors, etc had the power prevent the police from doing their jobs, either enforcing laws or ensuring public safety, until these riots started happening.

I'd love to go out there counter-protesting myself, but I suspect it would only make the cop's jobs harder. At this point though, that may be our best option. Pick a weekend for a massive nation-wide counter protest in support of police, against BLM, and against rioting.

Michael Knowles said it best on his podcast yesterday-the right and especially Republicans are always talking about “what ifs” and how we can never use government to stop our enemies because “they may use it against us in the future” and while this is true to an extent, we need to fight NOW because the future fight may never come.
