Aaah thanks. I don't recall ever seeing his picture before. He's a scruffy, determined character. Time to refresh my limited memory of his impact on our nation.
Its a Very good book. 700+ pages but worth the time. What if the financial crisis in California hadn't bankrupted his bank and he had remained a banker in California during the gold rush? Would the Civil war have lasted much longer than it did?
I think his solution was to make war miserable as crap for the South and once they were defeated to offer them a lenient peace where it would make it easier for the South to come back into the fold with no hard feelings so they didn't have a reason or incentive to keep fighting in a guerilla war.
He determined that small rogue groups eould be supported by the local populace. So, he desteoyed their ability to support an insurrection into the future. It was only brick and mortar, after all.
Allow me to further educated myself. What's his name?

In brief, what was his righteous solution to guerilla warfare, which is definitely our future?
Aaah, the wifey provided the answer. He burned Atlanta 😂👍
