So here in AZ, the governor left it up to the mayors to fucking decide about mask.
As of last night, 500k+ tests, 40k+ positive, and 1200+ deaths. With more than half hospitalizations (1600+) being 65 and over being an age group that tends to be hospitalized more often than any other group.
I wish wish our fucking governor would do press conferences that didn’t transcribe like fucking CNN headlines. ‘Cases up 600%!!’ And ‘Highest single day death count!!’ Really mean ‘1200 new cases’ and ‘20 goddamn people.’ Also a 99.98% survival rate would make people feel better. Just sayin’.
Is that really worth the almost half a million Arizonans out of work? Fuck no. I live in Scottsdale, a place known for retirement. These old people are living their best life. I applaud and appreciate them.

They've been conveniently leaving the recovery/no symptoms statistics out on purpose. They've been doing it since the start. That's why really early on I decided this was all a hoax. (By hoax, I don't mean the CCP Virus doesn't exist and people don't get sick. I'm talking about the overreaction to it.)
When I saw that the vast majority of people don't have symptoms, that's when I knew. It's very very rare for a person without visible symptoms to be able to spread a virus. If they don't display symptoms, it's because the virus can't replicate enough in their system to actually cause a problem. Yes, there are notable exceptions, like typhoid Mary, but those are notable because they're exceptions. Anyone with even basic medical knowledge should have been able to tell the same. But apparently we're all into pretending we don't know basic facts this year, and we're all slaves to fashion.
Yeah, the asymptomatic cases have the same viral load as pediatric cases, and so far no child has transmitted it or AFAIK died of it.
I jumped aboard the hoax train week one, when it was revealed that people below 60 had a 0.5% death rate, yet they were obviously and transparently trying to panic everyone.
That's why the only thing you hear about is new cases. It's the only number that they can use because it will always be a positive number, and the total cases number will always go up.
Of course, we have more new cases because we have more testing.
And I keep reminding people that they count "positive tests" as "cases." To me, a case is someone who is sick with symptoms and needs medical attention. If someone tests positive and never has a single symptom and their body just fights it off, I don't even count that as a "case." The liars will...but I won't.
