Conservative Catholics haven't listened to a word Pope Francis has said since he became Pope, partly because he hasn't said anything ex cathedra, which is the dogma that if a Pope says eomthing "from the chair" and follows a certain formula, it's required to be believed. The last time this happened was in 1950 when Pope Pius XII defined the dogma of the Assumption of Mary (Mary was assumed body and soul into Heaven).

The Catechism is not dogma, it is doctrine. The recent change to the Catechism wrt death penalty is at odds with the teachings of older Popes and Saints. Unless the Pope declares ex cathedra and follows a speific formula to define the abolition of the death penalty as dogma, we can safely ignore what Pope Francis has to say about it.

As a conservative evangelical, this makes me sad. Who gives the pope the authority to speak infallibly? The word of God clearly states that Jesus is the (only) "way, the truth and the life" (John 14:6). No man, however sanctified, can speak infallibly. I hope conservative Catholics realize that contradictory sources of truth (ie, the word of God, the catechism, and the pope speaking infallibly) can't be reconciled and that only one can be fully believed (I'd recommend the one that states clearly "All scripture is inspired by God" 2 Timothy 3:16). There are many resources online that show contradictions between the Bible and the catechism (ie, what saves us?), I'd recommend checking some out and trying to figure out for yourself how to reconcile the contradictions between things you hold as sources of truth.

There's a clause in the constitution that is clear to anyone with a brain, however it can be misread on purpose by activist judges. That's why we need to be sure.

The ORIGINAL Constitution does not establish birthright citizenship but the 14th amendment certainly does.

"All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside"

So to overturn this we need another amendment. Just like how the 18th amendment (prohibition of alcohol) was overturned by the 21st amendment

I don't support alphabet people rights at all. But I would like people to realize the effects of these laws. If given the choice between two identical candidates to hire, except one has the potential or likelihood of a lawsuit, you are going to pick the low risk one. If you have received a lawsuit, no matter how frivolous, you will never consider a similar candidate again.

Nobody quits their job and is sued because the owner is any of those protected classes, and it works just fine. I am for abolishing the entire law --> more working, less suing. More work for everyone except lawyers.

I don't know. The biggest issue I've seen the left talking about right now is RBG. There are tweets going around saying "You aren't just voting for the next president. You're voting for RBG's replacement." If she croaks before the election, and Trump replaces her before the election, that would demoralize them heavily.

The only good thing about the recent SCotUS rulings, as shit as they are, is that the left doesn't have an issue to raise with Trump. He's been quiet the past year or so and not doing anything major such as completely stopping all future attempts at gun control, killing Obamacare, etc. The left will have less and less ammo to go after him with during the election. Once the economy rebounds, if it does before November, he will have his primary ammo against Biden back.

Only time will tell with this stuff...

Obviously if Trump could replace her before his first term ends in January it would be the best for us. But she'd need to go now, it could take a few months to pass through the senate and I'm sure some RINO won't vote for the replacement if it's too close to the election (or after).

I don't think it's a good strategy for Trump to keep a low profile. They hate him regardless. I think he should go all out, give us everything we want with EO, and the base will be super energized.

Trump has accomplished much less than we thought he would. I don't think this is "concerned trolling". We had great hopes but it turned out the swamp is not easy to clean. So many leaning Trump people might not vote, that's my fear.

Not saying it's good, but what I believe is happening. If he was trying to kill Obamacare, kill all future attempts at gun control, wage a war against illegal immigrants, etc. then the left would be up in flames right now at him the way they are at police. The Democrats could say, "He took away your safety by repealing gun control forever, he took away your health care, etc." Now they have to go on him and the economy, which the coronavirus has fucked with. But if it can get back up, he'll have something to fight back with.

I will vote Trump no matter what. I hope the rest of the conservatives do as well. Biden does not energize. He's a decrepit, old pedophile who says, "Back to the way it used to be." He does not energize. He'll need shitlibs coming out by pure hatred, and while that is very doable, I think having someone energetic like Trump has a better shot.

Regardless, I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying that Trump wins. It won't be as easy for him to win as I thought it would be a few years ago. =(

Indeed. I grow anxious every day that Trump could lose. The SCotUS is voting pro-liberal and making Trump's orders follow law but Obama's do nothing and stay existing, Trump has been hindered for 4 years and ultimately not accomplished much, and Democrats might be able to hide Biden until the election so that the American people (and liberals) don't see how his mental state is.

The swamp is using everything in its power to stop him, and I fear that they could ultimately win so that Trump and 4 years were but a brief reprieve from globalism and evil winning. Similar to Republicans during the Obama regime, we just have a string of losses. That's what I'm afraid of. Trump absolutely must win, and he must fight back against the swamp. He must kill Obamacare, gun control, transgenderism, and save religious rights from being destroyed.

Maybe I'm just being a bit too negative (I've been told my whole life I'm a negative Ned, although I'm working on changing that), but I really am worried. If I'm dying, I will go out and vote for Trump on election day, but after everything we went through during Bush and Obama, I'm starting to remember the constant string of seemingly never-ending losing we had (I was a Ron Paul supporter back in those days).

I do not want him to play anymore games. I have been very disappointed with his performance on these riots/statue destroying/etc. He seems to be grandstanding a bunch here b.c he knows wrong move could put more fuel on the flames, but honestly he needs to focus on preservation and expansion of rights, knowledge, and get a new party movement going. 1st Amendment, 2nd Amendment, 4th Amendment are under attack at such levels that if he doesn't attempt any preservation now, its all over folks. The supreme court can not be expanded, he should have chosen Amy Barett to begin with and then an extreme version of her next once RBG is done.

CHAZ should have been taken apart the first day it went up. Allowing a rogue group come in and occupy a city where people pay taxes and rent for, held at gunpoint, fleeced for entry, rapes, etc. Unfucking called for and unamerican to the highest degree. This sentiment needs to be realized by every Pede on this board. As well as all the normal freedom loving Americans that are so close to losing everything.

We've tolerated them, reasoned with them, allowed them to grow strong and infiltrate EVERY American institution. They take everything as we compromise on anything. We've lost Education, Entertainment, Government, Military(what 1/2?) and every large Corp.

We've been "reasonable" to the point we may as well just hand them the gun and self deny that "they would never go 'that' far" as they pull the godamn trigger. They cannot be reasoned with and will never EVER tolerate us as we have them. History does not mince words on this same outcome.

I feel you, man. I really do. I'm done being polite about it and so should EVERYONE else. That BS is why we are here and we are late to the party. If we don't all show up, the silent majority will cease to exist and noone will ever know it had.

This. Conservatives have been OBSESSED with textualism and originalism. They claim they just want to properly apply the law as written. However, as we have seen, the left simply wants to rewrite the law. As Sean Davis recently tweeted, the conservative legal movement is dead. Josh Hawley gave a similar speech on the senate floor.

So with that, we need to be up front and honest: the role of a judge is not to apply the law as written, rather, his job is to rewrite the law in the conservative image, and nothing less.

Today, the court is 4-4 with Roberts as a deep state controlled swing vote.

Once RBG passes, and Trump nominates her successor, then the court will be 5-3 and Roberts' vote won't matter as decisions of 6-3 or 5-4 are exactly the same. The deep state's control over Roberts will be effectively nullified.

He’ll likely have to pick whoever will pass Senate so it’s incredibly important that we gain a HUGE lead in the Senate.

If we get a strong lead, he has more freedom to put in justices that aren’t so activist. Otherwise he has to try and appeal to the activist Dems that see courts as tools of legislating and choose someone more moderate.

What does this mean for us? Support your fucking Senators! We need to give House and Senate Republican candidates war chests to fight with and funding to use - period.
