There's been a few times where I just wanted to get stuff off my chest and not be inflammatory or offensive but just say my thoughts and attempt any kind of intelligent discourse, but I'm so afraid I'm gonna do that and lose my job or get blackballed from the activities I do.

Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act does not allow Twitter to do this. They are breaking the law by curating content and acting as a publisher.

There is ZERO in that Tweet that violates and standards of ethics or decency, it simply goes against the narrative that Twitter wants to PUBLISH to the world.

Shut. Them. Down. Now.

Wake. The. Fuck. Up. Bill. Bagpipes.

I struggle to understand why they are waiting or sitting on this shit. The case of blatant censorship, ideological discrimination, monopolistic practices, and absolutes breach of section 230 is all out in the public view.

The time to act on it, take them to court, was yesterday.

4
Evei 4 points ago +4 / -0

Barr is sitting on it because he's not on our side. He's a globalist traitor.

10
maleitch 10 points ago +13 / -3

No Section 230 does NOT do this. I have had this argument on a strictly legal basis, no emotion, politics aside and it was authored by a bunch of technologically ignorant politicians using terminology they did not have the first clue understanding.

Trust me I want it to be true, but the problem is that 230 is written with such ambiguity that a judge can literally rule in favor of either side depending on which leftist piece of shit he wants to protect.

Don't believe me? Read up on what happened with the Backpage case where former women who were trafficked on there lost their case.

It's the same problem we had on reddit, people desperately want to play in the playground where all of the dirty losers are. All you have to do to break away from that shit is stop going to their crappy web sites.

5
JeremiahKassin 5 points ago +5 / -0

Not that easy. Ever tried to sway the population to a new product or service? People like tried and true. Most of America is apathetic until they're directly affected. And most of those who aren't are vacant to the possibilities when faced with chaos.

The reality is we won't have free speech online unless we vote for a large enough majority of Republicans to make tech companies honor the First Amendment. We can do it! VOTE 2020!

3
TheUnsuicidables 3 points ago +3 / -0

Republicans have had years to prevent this. But they haven't.

I called and wrote my reps about this years ago. I included notes saying they deserve to lose every election if they don't do anything and allow voices to be silenced on the card when I sent in donations. Just today I got off the phone with a fundraiser and told her I'm not donating anymore until you start fighting this citing what NBC did to their rival conservative news sources cutting ad revenue through Google.

I'm going to vote, but I doubt they will do anything. Even Democrats are on board with some breaking up these companies (Warren, AOC, etc).

I feel like we can win, but we are losing our speech and civil liberties due to the media and if nothing is done we are in for a bleak future.

Looking into this, I see tweets accusing Dr Tyrone Wilson as not being real and he is using pictures of another man Lawrence Uradu. Leftists got him shut down by accusing him of being fake.

4
OutrageSells 4 points ago +4 / -0

The name Tyrone is commonly used by the "alt-right" (which includes everything from moderates, classical liberals, all the way to neo-nazis...at least according to the left). What I'm trying to say is that it does seem, at least to me, that this was a fake account.

2
dookiebot 2 points ago +2 / -0

I hope it was. Otherwise, it's a silencing tactic to keep shut down people with 'wrong think'. It's a good thing to keep an eye out on.

2
CuomoisaMassMurderer 2 points ago +2 / -0

Was it Tyrone Biggums?

My cousin married a white man named Tyrone. Owned a marina. Lived in a big house. On LBI.

Privileged to get wiped out by Hurricane Sandy.

He is correct. When I worked in the allied health field, certificates of needs placed county hospitals in impoverished inner cities. It was mayhem, total mayhem. Young Black males with gunshot wounds was a regular occurrence.

John 8:31-32. Just popped into my head. " So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Not typically a religious quote repeater, but some of them are really stone cold truth.

Unlike the left, we are literally speaking truth to power.

So keep doing it. Fight back. Heck, pretend to have been cowed and then keep on dumping on the left in your account.

If you have to, get another account and do it again. And again, and again, and again.

Heck, maybe we should start making code speech between right-wingers, especially code modeled after leftist cliches, and start getting THEM banned for "right-wing hate speech."

They said it was a russian bot account, because the guy used someone else picture and his name didnt appear in medial search for doctors. Not sure, if he was just using a fake profile pic, or what.

But I dont think his stats would be that far from untrue.

Our legislature doesn't do shit. Both the Senate and House get nothing done. Only way tech is gonna get reigned in is if Trump spearheads it. Even then, SCOTUS will probably reject it because the legislature is useless and didn't work on it.

"Impersonation of someone"

That can be two very different things; using an alias which would seem 100% necessary rn, or actually pretending to be someone else?

Dr Gu does that. He's not a Dr. He is a convicted sex offender.

Twitter is a private company. They can choose who or what uses their platform. I have no problem with a private company doing what they like. The First Amendment only pertains to the government. Private companies and citizens can do whatever they want.

The problem is Twitter has tried to play both sides of publisher and platform. It's one or the other. They need to choose (or be forced to choose) and stick with it.

They are a publisher that edit's it's content. The special rules that protects them was more to prevent lawsuits from uncontrolled content. It wasn't meant for this.

9
FreedomBullets 9 points ago +9 / -0

You are correct however there are different rules for a platform and a publisher. They have become a publisher by editing what their contributors can say. That's all fine and well but a publisher has a whole different set of liabilities than a platform. While I support their right to be a publisher I also support the laws by which a publisher must abide.

Now let's sue the shit of Twitter for all the libel they willfully published!

4
Beat_to_Quarters 4 points ago +5 / -1

You're totally fine with a handful of megacorporations having complete control over what you are allowed to say or believe? Is a social credit score next where you cant get services because you're rated 1 star like a fucking black mirror episode? This isnt forcing a baker to make you a specific wedding cake.

4
SwampMonsterJesus 4 points ago +4 / -0

I'm not fine with it; I just think the rules need to be laid out evenly and fairly. If a private company of a large size can dictate what they want on their private servers, then so can a small one. I want government as limited as possible, and as much as I hate big tech, I'll defend their right to do as they want, even if I disagree with it.

4
FreedomBullets 4 points ago +4 / -0

I can't argue against that but I think the real issue here is the difference in liability between a publisher and platform. Anyone can be a platform. This site is a platform but the moment the admins start censoring speech they take responsibility for what's published on this site.

1
fjobb 1 point ago +1 / -0

This is the crux. If you are censoring/banning stuff then it’s implied that what you don’t ban is considered acceptable otherwise why wasn’t it banned or censored as well. Since twitter for example banned this doctor for no reason other than they just don’t like him (ie not for an actual crime like inciting to violence), they should now be responsible for any calls to violence on their website, because they obviously are ok with them. Not saying it only applies to calling for violence, should also be any libel/slander they leave up, allowing terrorists to organize, inciting riots, child porn etc.

2
FreedomBullets 2 points ago +2 / -0

In this specific case the left said that this account was fake and Twitter removed it. Was it fake or real? There is no way to tell since they deleted it. I hope it was a fake account. I don't want to imagine how alone that doctor would feel if his account was deleted for speaking his mind.

2
fjobb 2 points ago +2 / -0

Well just consider the severely TDS crazed dr gu or whatever his name is, I’d say he is a fake as well if it’s true he was removed from a residency and charged with battery or whatever it was, yet they have 0 problem forcing his tweets to the top. It being fake is a ridiculous reason as tons of their users are fake. They’ll have to forgive me for not believing their motives are pure when they’ve already given me every reason to not believe anything they say lol.

4
FreedomBullets 4 points ago +4 / -0

That is an excellent point and yet another reason why Twitter is a publisher and not a platform

2
maleitch 2 points ago +2 / -0

Can verizon block what I say on a conference call? In not...why?
