Tax dollars have been raising black children and families for generations. The fact that they talk about reparations like they need a cash lump sum is outrageous.

How much is being a slaves descendant worth, anyway? Would a million dollars for each black person in the country even appease them? That's like 420T dollars and they'd still say it isn't enough. And I doubt many of them can even trace ancestry to slavery anyway. They all assume their great great great grandpa was a slave and I'll bet 90% of them are wrong. They'd all assume my great great great grandpa was a slave owner...and my family wasn't even in America until afterwards...and they lived in the North during segregation. They probably marched for black rights ffs.

Slave owners and the enslaved were both small populations of people. The former even more so than the latter.

You want reparations? Prove ancestry and sue the descendants for estates. Leave everyone else out of it. We didn't do shit, and neither did our ancestors.

I hate to say it but honestly I would like to see Anderson Cooper's family fortune be erased because the Vanderbilts were slave owners. I know this is not a popular opinion but there's a lot of "old money" in this country that I'd like to see erased by reparations. Vanderbilts, Bushes, McCains, even Larry David. I'd love to see their fortunes erased through reparations. If the law could be written that only living descendants of slave owners were 'on the hook' for reparation payments I'd be all for it.
