Slavery has been (and sadly still is, in some places) a feature of nearly every civilization in every corner of the globe. The fact that large numbers of people now legitimately believe it was invented and utilized purely by Europeans is a travesty, and speaks to the broad success of leftist propaganda. You can bet when I was in (public) high school, any mention of slavery in other parts of the world - if mentioned at all - was heavily qualified or played down. Once we get to Europe though, ho boy, was the treatment different.
