Well, here in New Mexico where the head Karen (a.k.a. Lujan Grisham) has mandated everybody wears masks since last month, I have to say I've only ran into one store that stopped me without one, and that was a Wal Mart. Haven't been back to that store since.
I think (now this is my take) that most stores are just following orders and hope peer pressure will make everyone else do the same. But knowing customer service and knowing that it's a touchy subject, the vast majority will not stop you.

My city just passed an ordinance yesterday requiring everyone to wear masks when in public, but they aren't planning on enforcing it with citations or police. So it's essentially meaningless. The only thing that might happen if you don't wear a mask is being told to leave a business.

Well, here in New Mexico where the head Karen (a.k.a. Lujan Grisham) has mandated everybody wears masks since last month, I have to say I've only ran into one store that stopped me without one, and that was a Wal Mart. Haven't been back to that store since.
I think (now this is my take) that most stores are just following orders and hope peer pressure will make everyone else do the same. But knowing customer service and knowing that it's a touchy subject, the vast majority will not stop you.
I see some stores where everybody's masked and some where nobody seems to care. Restaurants seem to be the most lax, and nobody gives you the stink eyes there.
